Number one with a bullet...

I've been on a necklace kick lately...

but this time with bling...

I saw this gunmetal necklace with blinged out bullets at (don't laugh), Forever 21.

I haven't really shopped F21 that much in the past since their clothes weren't really my style. Until recently. Studs and spikes are back in! Well, when were they ever really OUT?  The big plus about the store are their dirt cheap prices on fashion jewelry. Yes, this isn't high end stuff here but I still thought the necklace looked cool (it was $5.80). The Adios Star enamel earrings are by Tokidoki (bought five years ago online from Tobi.com). Grey and black baseball sleeve tee also from F21. The material is a bit on the sheer side and because the sizes at this store are made for super waify and skinny teens (which I'm not), I made sure to size up. Like way up!

Yesterday it was in the mid to high 70's and I was burning up wearing black! TC is catching up to me in height!

TC's turquoise hoodie from H & M; her Union Jack/"Hard Day's Night" Beatles t-shirt (bought online 2 years ago from Amazon), and Levi's skinny jeans from Macy's; red canvas Vans.  My jeans are my favorite pair and have been seen many times in previous posts - the Roxanne jean by 7 for All Mankind. Black suede/black fabric Vans with purple laces. Not my checkered slip ons today. They looked liked guy shoes but they are actually women's. I love guy shoes and the tomboy look to death!

We were still at Liberty Station seeking some dessert and were disappointed that Chi Chocolate was closed for maintenance!

Belt - double rowed pewter pyramid studded belt from Guess (bought on clearance from Marshall's 3 years ago).  Bags - Tokidoki for Sephora in Beach print, Summer 2011 collection and the Favola print cross-body bag (Fairy tale print, Fall 2009).

The title of the song is part of the lyrics to this classic AC/DC song, as sung by the bodacious chicks from Helles Belles, an all female AC/DC tribute band.  She's got the pipes and the look down right! Lyrics is at the 1:10 mark.

And here's the original video from 1980...lyric is also found at the exact same spot, 1:10!

"Back in the back...of a...cadillac
Number one with a bullet, I'm a power pack!"

The song "Back in Black" remains one of my favorite AC/DC songs. It was a slamming tribute to the late Bon Scott, their former frontman who died the "classic rock star death" (choking on his vomit)  the previous year after experiencing success with 1979's "Highway to Hell". "Back in Black" was released the summer of 1980 and became one of their most popular albums. I loved the song back then and still love it now, even though it was "ruined" by it's inclusion in "Iron Man" (both movies).

This album is one of my Desert Island Discs, for those of you that remember that feature from Pulse! Magazine (a free magazine that you could pick up at Tower Records back in the day), where they would ask musicians what 10 albums they would bring with them to a desert island. It was really fun to see each musician's personal preferences shine through with their "DID's". I believe Pulse would even invite their readers to submit their DID lists and would sometimes publish them.

For the record, here are my Top 10 DID's (in no particular order) - the Hard Rock/Rock category:

Van Halen - Van Halen
Queen - A Night at the Opera
Boston - Boston
Def Leppard - High 'n Dry
Led Zeppelin - Physical Graffiti
AC/DC - Back in Black
Joe Satriani - Surfing with the Alien
Rush - Exit Stage Left
Guns 'n Roses- Appetite for Destruction
King's X - Gretchen Goes to Nebraska

It's like "Sophie's Choice" trying to pick ten albums! And I didn't even include the Beatles, which should be their own category!

So many different genres too. Another Top 10 List - the 80's/New Wave/Post Punk category:

The Pretenders - The Pretenders
U2 - War & The Unforgettable Fire
The Smiths - Singles
The Cure - The Head on the Door
Echo & the Bunnymen - Ocean Rain
The Replacements - Don't Tell a Soul
The Police - Outlandos D'Amour, Regatta de Blanc, and Zenyatta Mondatta

For the musically obsessed readers, what are your Desert Island Discs? Inquiring minds, namely mine, want to know!
