It was really nice being on on a Friday afternoon. Normally I'm in the office and a her classmate's dad brings her home. It's always good to have a change of pace, especially when sweets are involved!
Awww, there was an actual dog sleeping in the little dog bed...

We wanted to try these flavors that we saw last time...

The Cherry Chocolate cream soda was a new flavor, so we got one of the mini's.

Our four mini's: Cherry Chocolate Cream Soda, Grandma Soapy's Lemon Curd, Vanilla Vanilla (the one TC wanted last time but it was gone; it is the owner's favorite), and Tiramisu & Kahlua Buttercream. Love the different sugar toppings, especialy the gold sugars on the Lemon Curd cupcake.

I was meeting a few friends later that night for a dinner meetup, so these cookies were going to be part of a birthday gift. These were heart shaped ginger cream cookies. They had an iridescent silvery, lavendar wash on them.

A mini banana bread loaf for my friend's gift...

For Bert, I got him a Guinness Porter Cake which we tried later that evening. This was an Irish bakery so it seemed appropriate to try one of their specialties. The cake was moist and had a tinge of spices and dried fruits in it (cherries and raisins). Bert found the taste of Guinness to be very faint and thought it could have used more of it in there. I liked it althought it wasn't overly sweet.

This was another specialty - the Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese frosting.

This was one of the best carrot cakes I've ever had. Again, not so sweet. The sweetness came not from the cake but from the cream cheese frosting. When I sliced into this, there was a hollow indentation at the bottom. Sorry, no photos. It makes me wonder what type of pan she used to bake this in. I'll have to ask her next time I go here (and there WILL be a next time, heh heh).
This was the Vanilla Vanilla mini that TC wanted the last time but they were out. Not today. This was just plain vanilla (the owner's favorite cupcake) topped with icing and pink sprinkles.

The Tiramisu and Kahlua cupcake. Bert and I had this later the next day. This was before it got all fkd up during my clumsy transport from the shopping bag to my car. It was pretty while it lasted. I liked this flavor the best, along with the Cherry Chocolate cupcake.

I got this for Bert and TC because they both love lemon flavored desserts - Grandma Soapy's Lemon cake which was toped with gold glitter and sugar! It had a really nice lemon flavor, not too tart (which I loathe). Many of the owner's recipes are named after family members such as this flavor.

Lastly, the Cherry "Kirschwasser" Chocolate Cream Soda cupcake - It tastes just like a cherry cordial! That is one of Bert's favorite flavors. One of his first candy gifts to me, way back in high school (Wut!) was a box of cherry cordials (oh, and thin mints!). Loved the look of the two toned frosting.

Mmmm, cherry chocolate filling!

Later at home, the Guinness Porter cake...

studded with cherries and raisins with a hint of spice...

And dont' tell my friend, but I manhandled her cookies so I could take a photo of it outside of the plastic bag.

I hope she liked them. I like ginger but not so much in cookies though. During our visit, they were also selling football shaped cookies that said, "Go Ravens" and "Go 49ers". Unfortunately, our West coast team lost, dagnabbit.
Previous visit to Sugar & Scribe here.
There was one last stop before heading home and hitting the shiteous traffic...
