"What do you mean? An African or European Swallow?"
Quotes are from the "Bridge of Death" scene in "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" in which almost every scene is quotable!
I could have used another "swallow" reference from "Austin Powers the Spy Who Shagged Me", but...
I wanted to keep this post relatively clean, heh heh.
Here is a snippet from that scene for your visual folks:
All righty then!
This necklace of cascading swallows in flight is one of my favorites...

Bought from modcloth.com last Fall. I usually pair it up with something yellow since it's a "happy" color.

Outfit deets: Boatneck sweater from Banana Republic Factory store (got it for 50% off in January), grey Denizen jeggings from Target , and lace print flats from Ann Taylor (6 years old, bought on clearance for $9.99).

The one thing about these jeggings is that the front pockets are not functional which I don't like. The pants do have real back pockets but "fake" front pocket stitching.
Pay no attention to any toe jam that you see in the shoe interior.

Whew! There isn't any....toe jame that is!
I've been wearing flats more often because my right foot is developing a tiny tiny bunion which hurts like an MF at times. All my killer heels and platforms are on hiatus right now.

A gunmetal rose patterned filigree ring that I got as a gift from my hairstylist. It came with a long necklace that I never wear because there's rhinestones on it.

Handmade earrings by yours truly (5 years old). These are an exact copy (with different colored stones) of a pair I saw at Anthropologie that was selling for $38 bones back in 2008. WTF, right? The two beads on the bottom are Czech glass (a tiny round and a rondelle), the one on top is some sort of semi-precious stone (don't remember the name), threaded onto a headpin and handwrapped. There are two oblong jump ringsattached to the top of the wrap.

That is the exact design from the $38 earrings. I have other versions of this using yellow, light aqua and light green stones and Czech glass, made for way way less. The hooks and wires are not real silver though but I was happy I was able to replicate it since it was simple.
Of course, I had to include this "bird" related song...
which is one of my favorite songs of all time! Whenever I make an 80's cd mix, this song usually makes the cut. Something about the tribal drums really gets me, ooh yeah...
I don't want to rehash what I've already written about this song, so you may visit my original post referencing the Icicle Works from December 2009 from when I used to do Humpday Music Videos. Maybe I should do version 3.0 since that was a lot of fun coming up with artists in A-Z order.

Love the necklace! I'm sure you've seen my many bird print items, so I'm very drawn to your necklace.
"Birds Fly (Whisper to a Scream)" is one of my all time favorite 80's songs, too. :)

hi cy - yes, you have so many awesome bird printed clothes! i'm eyeing these bird printed wedges at DSW but am waiting to get my bday gift certificate first before getting them (if they still have them). they are different than the one i showed you. those had owls. these are white bird silhouettes on a black background.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE that song! It's on almost every 80's CD mix that I make!
