If you take the Main St. exit from the I-5, you will pass by this National City landmark, the Psychic Palm Reader. The older sign used to have palm facing out with an eye in the middle. It has since been replaced with the words "Psychic" in the blue field of the sign. I've always wondered about this place but am too scared to actually go in...
You will also pass by multicolored building that sells Mexican Candy (makes mental note to visit in the future), Sweet Dots.

On East 7th, is the Un-PC named, "Oriental Cafe", an old school Chinese joint. This place looks like it's been here forever and it probably has.

Make a right on A Ave and you will find a small row of shops. Niederfrank's is next to a sewing shop, but hey, you really can't miss the sign! Parking is free for two hours and every time I've been here, there's never been a problem finding a spot.

I had an online coupon from my entertainment book (there are lots of extra ones online that are not in the actual coupon book itself, so that was a nice surprise). Two for one is always good, so that is what we did, with Bert and I sharing our cup. Note, the SD Reader issue has a nice spread of restaurant articles. The best pages in there, of course are by the master himself, Kirk from Mmm-Yoso. Pick up a copy, if you haven't already, or better yet, just read it online or if you want to read just Kirk's, click here.

TC's favorite - the Red Mint Chip. Always refreshing.

For me and my lactose intolerant husband, the Golden Pistachio.

All I can say is, "Go here and try their homemade ice cream for yourself!". They have a ton of excellent flavors (cocojack is one of them).

Previous visits here and here...
