Carve this!

Happy Halloween!

The scene from last night...TC and Bert diligently working on two of our three pumpkins...

The big reveal after the jump!

TC worked quite hard on her bat design...

I originally wanted Frankenweenie, but changed my mind to good ole Chewbacca.

Here's the bat design in our dark laundryroom...

and here it is lit up in front of our house...

I found this while looking online for designs. It was too late to do the Death Star, plus our pumpkin wasn't big enough or round enough to be an adequately impressive Death Star. Chewbacca is one of my favorite Star Wars characters so he was the winner.

Bert didn't carve all the way through yet. You can also see his technique of making dots with the tools then he carves it out and punches out the pieces later.

I'm ready for my closeup now Mr. Solo.

And of course, my husband had to pick the mysterious figure who appeared at the very end of "The Avengers", Thanos.

This is what he looks like in color:

I thought Bert did a pretty good job. He did more carving than actually cutting through.

None of the trick or treaters knew who he was, but when Bert posted it on his Facebook, only a few people got the reference such as my comics obsessed godson (he's in his 20's) and of course, Superman. Some one  thought it was a character from "Pirates of the Caribbean"...Wut?

Our ghetto display - these plastic patio chairs are so old, but they do the job!

TC's stash...lots of good stuff this year!

Except someone gave out PEANUTS! I hope they aren't poisoned!  Just kidding. I ate a few. You know, to go with the dark chocolate funsize Milky Way. I haven't keeled over yet!

Hope everyone had a fun Halloween, whether you dressed up or passed out candy, or watched scary movies or whatever!!!

Previous pumpkins from Halloweens past:
2011 - the lips and fangs logo from "True Blood", The Vision (a Marvel character), and Boo from "Monsters Inc."
2010 - Eric Northman from "True Blood", howling wolves, and a spider
2009 - Singing ghosts, a haunted house, and a spider in its web

Wow, I thought you meant a bag of peanuts until I saw the photo! That's almost as bad as someone giving you pennies, which I totally got one year when I was young. Cool pumpkins, too! I didn't do a pumpkin this year, but I did make a cool Toadette hat for my costume! Happy Halloween!

I love seeing your annual pumpkins! It looks like TC did get a lot of good stuff this year. DH and I went to the mall nearby so that we could see all the little kids' costumes. So cute!
