A few days ago, KD took the day off to hang out with me, TC and her daughter.

I thought it would be fun to just do places in downtown CV such as this new'ish taco shop here...
This TJ style taco place was formerly Tacos el Poblano. I'd never been when it was el Poblano. It was set up like the one near our place, where there are different stations for the meats.

Ooh, vampiros tacos? Then I saw that it had 'lengua' (or tongue). One of these days, I'll have to try it but today wasn't that day.

This was the adobado station. Just look at that juicy spit of meat....

With everything means all of these sauces (red and green hot sauce) plus chopped cilantro and onions.

It's a bit cavernous in here with a seaprate pay station and a lot of empty space in the middle. Not really a good use of space.

TC and I shared taco de birria and one adobada. We were also given a side of grilled pepper (forgot the name of this one, but it's pretty mild until you hit the seeds) and green onions.

KD and her daughter had these tacos - carne asada and chicken. Both with everything on it.

Back to my birria taco - this was so tender and saucy! A bit messy too, but I really liked the meat. I could have eaten three of these, but we were saving room for our real lunch. This was just a 'snack'.

The adobada taco which TC mostly had. There was a bit of heat with this taco but it was tempered by the creamy white sauce. It was so hard to decide which taco I liked better. I liked both equally but TC liked this one more.

There is also a separate bar where you can get extras like lime slices and radishes. There might have been pickled peppers and carrots but I didn't get them.

The guy working one of the meat stations said we should check them out on Tuesdays when their tacos are .99! Seems like a lot of places have Taco Tuesdays specials.

Here are the recent yelp reviews on this place (there are only two so far since it's pretty new).
Here is Kirk's old post back when it was Tacos el Poblano. Thought I'd throw that in so you could compare
