It ain't easy being green...plus Shamrock McShake!

Happy Saint Patrick's Day!

"Vegas! My kind of town!" from one of the greatest movies of all time, "Leprechaun 3" (pause.....crickets)

(photo from the VideoGum blog)---Dammit, youtube won't let me embed, so you can see this pivotal scene here...

All of our Pez that had green...pretty random eh? The Bucktooth Chocolate Bunny, Slimy Sid (a glow in the dark Halloween ghost), the Green Lantern, Samwise Gamgee, the Hobbit from "Lord of the Rings", the Tex the T-Rex from "Toy Story", Mike Wazowski from "Monsters Inc", and Diego the Saber Toothed Tiger from "Ice Age":

Me and Samwise....

Mike and TC. She didn't want to wear a green shirt so she wore a scarf with green in it (there are skull patterns on the scarf as well).

Of course Bert had to have the Green Lantern.

That doesn't look like Ryan Reynolds to me! O_o

Update!
Bert and TC were out doing errands earlier and came back with two Shamrock McShakes. That was a nice surprise since I was secretly wanting to try one but too lazy to drive out to get one. They got it at the McD's in National City on the corner of 16th and Highland Avenue. Believe it or not, I've never ever had a Shamrock McShake. Apparently, they're not at every McD's and they're only available in March because of St. Patrick's Day. According to Bert, the whipped cream already settled and the cherry sank to the bottom of the shake.

I thought it would be nice to feature TC's beloved "Bobo" bear ($2.99 from Ikea) on top of the Incredible Hulk dessert plate I made. It was part of a set of four Marvel plates (also included Iron Man, Spider Man and Captain America). The green glass I used as the pedestal was .99 at a thrift store. This was the 2nd Hulk plate. The first one had a different pedestal base (alas, not green) that we gave to TC's 6th grade teacher as a gift (since he is a Marvel fanboy).

About the Shamrock McShake, I thought it was very sweet, too sweet in fact. It's basically a mint ice cream shake with whipped cream on top. It  also tastes very artificial, but it's McD's, so it is what it is. It also has a faint greenish tinge throughout, but you can see the coloring settle at the bottom of the plastic cup.

Have a fun Saint Patrick's Day!

Eat some corned beef and drink some Guinness!

Beware of the Evil Leprechaun!

I had a Shamrock Shake earlier this month and I thought it was too sweet as well. I had it on my lunch break and I threw it away after drinking about half of it. I loved the color though, haha.

I didn't even finish mine. I think it's still in the freezer. It tastes so fake to me.
