The battered red chili shrimp tacos from Rubio's. I used MFH's real name for my "fake name", ha ha.
This was lunch with the co-workers. Dinner was even better...
TC and I made a quick stop at JNC Pinoy Food Mart. The ladies in front of us were also getting fish based items because is was a Friday. Too bad they didn't have any Adobong Pusit (Squid Adobo)...

If you are vegetarian, don't even bother eating here. Ha ha. But seriously, many of these dishes feature pork, beef, or chicken...Adobo, mechado, lumpia, skewers, longganisa, afritada. The list goes on and on. I wanted everything I saw there to be honest.

This is what we wanted. I'm not sure what the thin fish was at the left corner, but the lower right corner was fried tilapia; the upper right corner was bangus. The prices of the fish will vary depending on the fish and the size. The larger bangus was $9. The smaller tilapia was $4.

The lady gave me a combo of 1 fish with pancit (instead of rice) , along with tortang talong (eggplant torta) which was $6.50; the extra fish was $4. TC and I were so hungry, we could have had one fish each to ourselves, but we didn't. We ate early instead of waiting for Bert and his mom. TC enjoyed picking through the carcass and looking through the fish head's eye sockets. Nice.

This was the Tortang Talong (eggplant torta) - split eggplant, battered and fried with egg. This is one of my dad's specialties. His version is much better. I still haven't even attempted making this dish. This tastes good with a soy sauce and crushed garlic dipping sauce.

I was worried that the one tilapia that was left wouldn't be enough for my MIL and Bert, so I fried up a batch of these parmesan herb crusted tilapia filets (courtesy of Fresh and Easy). I hardly ever fry anything up, so this was indeed a rarity. Three or four minutes each side with a few tablespoons of oil...

These came our pretty good. Never mind that "mangled" piece that I taste tested. The crust was quite nice and crisp.

Along with the two types of fried fish, we also had the pancit that came with the combo (not pictured since it wasn't that pretty looking), green salad, and steamed carrots. See, we do eat vegetables over here. Ha ha.
Just for fun, I should try making some real "Krabby Patties" a la Spongebob:
Annoying isn't it?
You're welcome.
