But since Bert had a gift card to use up...
we figured we would! We went to the Cold Stone in the Eastlake Target shopping center. This is next to Panda Express and Subway.

Although the waffle bowls looked tempting, we ended up just getting our ice cream in cups.

Their sizes are labeled: Like it (small), Love it (medium) and Gotta Have it (mondo size). Why can't they just use the regular size names?
They had a poster of their "Signature Creations" to take the guess work out of choosing flavors and add ins (candy, nuts, etc).

Bert and I shared the "Coffee Lovers Only" creation...

TC, on the other hand came up with Cotton candy (bluish) mixed in with Peppermint flavored ice cream. Her mix ins were gummy bears. We both chose the medium size, with Bert and I sharing. TC took the other half of her portion home since the medium is way too much for a kid to finish, unless that kid is a gluttonous pig. I'm surprised she didn't choose a fruit flavored ice cream. Their flavors are kind of limited but I supposed with all the mixing and matching of flavors with toppings, etc, it doesn't matter as much.

Here's our Coffee Lovers ice cream with had chopped roasted almonds, and bits and pieces of Heath English toffee bar, and caramel. I liked the coffee ice cream and the crunch from the add ins. I like almonds better than peanuts in my ice cream. I wish this had more chocolate in it! Next time (if there is a next time). I still don't think I'll convert to this type of ice cream, you know, where it's smashed up with mix ins. Rather, I prefer my ice cream to be actual scoops with no mix ins, unless they're already embedded within the ice cream (like chocolate chip or Rocky Road or something).

Oh, one thing Eastlake Cold Stone - it would be a good fkg idea NOT to have MESH table tops.

Really? Dripping ice cream and mesh table tops. A very nice combination.
I'm sure the workers enjoy cleaning all those ice cream drips. Let's face it. Ice cream can be messy. It would be so much easier to have tables with actual table tops that they can actually wipe clean and with ease. Plus, the customers would be happier with no drips or spills on their clothing or shoes.
Rant over.

Jake the kids and I were at this particular location not too long ago! I think I did get a drip of ice cream on my pants through the mesh tables... funny!
