Random birthday freebie odds and ends

After my birthday lunch at Himalayan Curry & Grill...

I made use of my birthday offer...

at S3 Coffee and picked up a free Cravory cookie of my choice, in this case, the Mango con Chile. It sounded interesting, but...I ended up not really liking it. One bite. Done. Bert, finished it later, heh.

I picked up the Summer Peach drink before heading out. I like that they released their summer drinks super early.

Refreshing! Looks great on the hood of my car.

More birthday coupons were cashed in that day.  I had the day off so why not. I like to consolidate my trips.  So east we went on Mission Gorge Road which leads into Santee.

The reason - Mary's Donuts birthday offer was  TWO free donuts AND a drink. That's a pretty damn good deal.

Blueberry cake with purple sprinkles and chocolate old fashioned. Instead of coffee, the gal at the counter said I could pick a cold drink from their case, which was really nice. The Snapple was later given to TC.

Later that evening, Souplantation's birthday offer was pretty damn good. A free meal for me and 25% off for everyone else in your party.  We had to wait thirty minutes in line. Friday night.  Busy as $#%#. But at least they were able to seat us in a booth.  I had paced myself all day. I pretty much stuck with this one plate. Pasta was lemon. Flavor of the month I believe. Plus mushroom soup!

A cake donut counts as a cake right?

More free birthday shit - Pappalecco offers a  free medium gelato. You can get up to three flavors - in this case, strawberry, stracciatella and hazelnut.

We also had a light dinner there. That will be in a separate compilation post.

Another free offer -  Krispy Kreme - 1 free donut + 1 drink (coffee). It originally said fountain drink, but they don't offer any (wth), so coffee it was.  I normally don't drink drip, but this actually wasn't too bad. The donut I chose was thr raspberry filled.

Chamorro Grill - $10 off $20. This is probably the third or fourth time I've used this offer over the years. This is pretty much the last time.  They've gone downhill...like way downhill.

TC had teriyaki salmon with fried shrimp, Bert had the kalbi ribs with bbq chicken and kelaguen while I chose the pork ribs.  The ribs were dry and Bert's short ribs were overly charred. Chicken wa also dry. Sad face.

Birthday offers from stores:
  • $5 DSW  - I used it to buy a six pack of socks that cost $10.99. Half off eh.
  • $15 Banana Republic - used for a floral print sleeveless top
  • $15 Ann Taylor (made better by using another $20 off Rewards  coupon I had saved for this occasion) - rough hem capri jeans!
  • 1 free item at Ulta Beauty (some makeup stuff I gave toTC) - the wierd thing is that I got this offer in March because the employee had entered my birthday month incorrectly.
  • 1 free item at Sephora (same, gave it to TC)
  • 15% off any one regular price item at Anthropologie. I ended up not using this because I did an online survey where I got 20% off, which was a better deal
Used & found in these April posts:
Project Reo Collective - 1 free dulce de canela latte
Himalayan Grill - 1 free meal (up to $10 off)
Sprinkles + The Purple Mint & The Cupcake Store - 1 free cupcake; 1 free meal (up to $10 off) & a free cupcake with a purchase of one
Brothers Family Restaurant - 1 free meal  (up to $10 off)
Cafe 21  - 1 free meal (no price limit)

Used but not pictured:
1 free meal + beverage from Rubio's (I got tacos and we already know what those look like)

Not used:
Imperial Beach
El Cilantro & Big Kahuna's  - $5 off $10. Didn't have time to go there and didn't think the offer was really worth it.

Lemon Grove
Da Chicken Coop - also $5 off $10. Same. Too out of my way. I have a better deal from my regular entertainment coupon book because I'm thrifty like that.

Fuddruckers
1 free burger (I've used this before so I'm wouldn't be heartbroken not using this). It expires in early May. I probably won't even use it but it's nice to have the offer.

I'll have to try newer places next year.  I don't know about you, but this month better go quickly. I am getting so antsy for summer break!

Ooh you did so good! Are you a member for Banana or Ann taylor so got an offer? We went to that Himalayan spot near grantville after I read your earlier post. We had leftovers! Apparently it is sister restaurants with the one in Mira Mesa (decor similar too). I kinda can't wait for my bday because I get/use more offers than Dennis!

I did my best this year, Lynn, haha. Yes, I have a Banana and Ann Taylor card. If you spedn over a certain amount, they upgrade the card and you get more perks, which is what I've had for the past 6-7 years or so.

Yay, you tried Himalayan! I want to go t here again. I'm not surprised about the leftovers. Their portions are enormous! But tasty! I didn't know they had one in Mira Mesa too, so that's good to know.

Looking forward to your birthday posts! :) I like reading what freebies you get (and also Mary).
