Portland Day 3 - Otto's Sausage Kitchen & Meat Market

Still in the SE quadrant of Portland...

we headed to the Woodstock neighborhood for some exploration...

There was a German sausage place we wanted to eat at where they grill their housemade sausages outside.

Otto's has been around since 1929. There's a reason they've lasted this long.

Loved the window paintings here. There is a restaurant and German market inside. We ate outside, the better to enjoy the grilled sausages.

You pick your bun and choose to have it grilled (we did); you can also pick your sodas from an ice filled tub. TC abstained from the sausages since she's off meat (for now) by choice.  Bert and I chose one smoked pork and one beer sausage to share. Around the corner is a shitload of condiments. Take your pick. There's something for everyone's palate.

Sorry, no sauerkraut for me. Bert likes it though. He does not like relish on his sausage but I do.  We sat out near the large mural of the German and Swiss Alps outside, a nod to the owner's heritage.

Yes, housemade and grilled sausages. Pork in the back, beer sausage in the front. Grilled buns for the win.

The sausages both had a nice snap to them.  Both were very juicy, meaty and delicious; I liked my beer sausage a little bit more than the pork.

Portland is a very bike friendly city...
