over to the SE quadrant for more donuts!
Doe Donuts is along SE Powell Blvd where we would be having lunch afterwards...This place is like if Nomad Donuts and Donut Panic in San Diego had a baby. This was basically a mix of artisan/fancy flavored donuts but vegan. I know Nomad does vegan too but I prefer not eating theirs. I like Linda's the best at Donut Panic (her flavors are not as crazy but still unique enough to have a cult fan base).

Their donuts are priced individually ($3 and up). We got six.

The damage:

Later at our hotel room:

Doe - their signature donut. Strawberry frosting over a yeast donut with sprinkes. TC liked this one.

Carrot cake - Lovely with cream cheese frosting and a real pansy (I asked for the purplse one; there were other color choices).

Vanilla bean - TC's choice You can see the real specks of vanilla bean in the glaze.

PB - Bert's choice. This was messy looking but he liked it. By the way, we only took a few bites for the initial taste test. These were too much to eat in one sitting too but the downside was that the didn't taste that good the next day. The texture was softer and not as pleasant, at least to my taste.

Strawberry rhubarb fritter - Of all of the donuts, I liked this one th e best. The rhubarb gave it some tartness. Nice pairing of flavors. The fritter wasn't as craggy as other fritters I've had. Again, only a few bites from this.

Pistachio pershing - a pershing is a donuts similar to a cinnamon roll but made with donut batter. This variety is popular in Wisconsin and Maine (thank you wikivisually.com!!!). Bert thought he might like this because he loves pistachio anything. Sorry to say, this donut was not a win. It was heavy and too doughy. The smeared pistachio paste or glaze on top was also not pretty looking. Thumbs down.
