but better late than never, heh...
Pix courtesy of Bert who actually attended the event. As much as I wanted to go, at the time, I was stressed out planning my parents' 50th anniversary party at the end of that month. I wasn't in the mood to be social and wanted to make sure I took care of last minute business, loose ends, etc.
Sarap Tikman 2 was held once again at the PASACAT Center in National City. My friend (and former student eons ago) was the MC. She is now a social worker/community activist and mother of a young girl who has the makings to be as active and down for the community as her mom.

Bert was kind enough to take photos of the different tastes he enjoyed that evening. These filled donuts were from Nomad - Calamansi glaze mango filled plus ube taro coconut with haupia filling.

Vendors Pavaraga Coffee, Delicious Desserts, Snoice and San Miguel Beer & Red Horse setting up inside the dance building:

Deconstructed lumpia (fried skin with mango salsa with pork and shrimp, although I don't see any of the meats) from The Shores (their chef is Filipino American!).

Sisig taco from Happy's Sushi:

Bert enjoyed these tacos which were very filling.
Hunter's Home Kitchen - Sinigang (sour soup) with sinigang fritters. I wish I would have tried those fritters! Sounds interesting.

An ube macaron from Delicious Desserts. I love anything purple and with ube...

Beer sample (pale ale?) Filipino owner and operated Abnormal Beer Co. in Rancho Bernardo.

Bert also made sure to get some beer samples from both Philippine favorites, San Miguel and Red Horse.

Toppings ran out by the end of the night, so Bert's ube snow ice dessert from Snoice was just topped with condensed milk.

The inaugural Sarap Tikman post:
June 2016
I'm not sure if there was a Sarap Tikman 3, but if there was, we missed it. We hope to both attend next year. It looked like a fun event with both entertainment as well as great food from all of the vendors.
