Return to Ninong's Pastries

[Note - Ninong's Pastries has since relocated to Northridge. This post is at their original but now closed Granada Hills location. The current business in this old spot is another Filipino bakery/cafe, "Hopia Like It"]

We are hardly ever in this area...

so we could not pass up another chance to visit this shop...

We got there pretty early, no line.

Lots of ube products as per our previous visit, but no ube cookie butter, which I was hoping to find and get.

I wanted everything but kept it simple.

I want a purple wall in my house too, ha ha. But seriously.

Our mini snack - two empanadas. One chicken and one pork. Pastry was nice and flaky. The fillings were tasty and served hot.

I also bought these ube cream cakes. They are basically ube twinkies, ha ha.  There's ube cream inside, OMG. These were so good, I wished I had bought more.  These were eaten when we arrived home though.

We also bought an ube coffee cake, one for us and one for my parents.

Loved the streusel on top and yes, the ube cake itself was so flavorful and moist.

The side street we parked on had these amazing mature trees.
This liquor store was around the corner. I was interested in their retro font for their sign.

Previous visit to Ninong's Pastries:
September 2016 (visit was actually summer of 2016)

There was a coffee spot we went during last year's trip which was located in a Korean church. It had since been relocated to a new brick and mortar. That stop is next.
