The old structure is still showing up on googlemaps...
See? But it's already been torn down as of May 2015:

Here's that same corner from our late summer trip in 2014 (where we went to my former student's wedding). We took that train for a foodcrawl on Taraval Street:

For our road trip in Summer 2015, it was already torn down. We were bummed because nearby was a great little cafe that served amazing pancakes. This was the southwest corner of Sloat and 46th:

Anyhow, I always find change fascinating, especially when I can easily compare the old and new...and I don't even live there!
Back to the end of our third day in San Francisco...
For dinner, we chose to go to the local Trader Joe's and pick up a salad and snacks. Afterwards, we went to a deli within walking distance of our motel for some sandwiches.
This Trader Joe's is near the Stonestown Galleria, right by San Fransisco State University. The parking lot was crowded like anything. Although we picked up our items quickly, we waited awhile in line because everyone and their mother seemed to be there that evening.

Sandwiches were procured here:

I was in the room while Bert and TC picked up the sandwiches...

The salads would last for the next few days. We still had Sacramento after our last day in SF tomorrow.

Roast beef with Dutch crunch bread + side salad:

Vegetarian sandwich for TC. Bread was sourdough.

I really liked the Dutch crunch bread here. I ended up baking the hash browns so we could have them for breakfast the next day (helps to have a room with a kitchen!) The meat, cheese, and crackers would be enjoyed over the next few days as well.
