I saw that another place I'd bookmarked was closer...
Hence, that determined where we would park for our first stop, which was here, a new (at the time) Brazilian bakery. Owned by a young couple, their cafe specializes in the Brazilian pao de quiejo (cheese bread made from tapioca flour).

I noticed that the bread's original name was made more user friendly by calling them "cheese popups".

The bakery is on a corner of Clement, one of the main streets in the Richmond District.

In addition to the breads, they also had juices, tea, and coffee. Bert's throat was sore so he opted for tea (a rare occasion), which they served in a really pretty mug with a mesh tea ball infuser. Nifty!

Their "cheese balls" came in different flavors but they only had two of their five flavors available. We chose potato and onion. The owner apologized for the lack of variety; I believe he comped us a few pieces while we were waiting for our snack to come out. Lucky locals can also buy the cheese breads by the bag and reheat them at home. If we had the luxury of having our own oven, we would have done so but not this time.

These were light and tasty...

That liquid was olive oil. You can also see the cheese in the bread which had a nice crackly exterior and a nice chewy interior.
Our snack was a trio of the parmesan cheese breads filled with butter, olives, cracked black pepper and thin salami sliced.

This was the perfect snack before having actual lunch. The owners here were really nice and welcoming. A few ladies sitting nearby were regulars and they were also quite friendly, chatting with us.

The other places I saved on the GPS were not within close walking distance so off we went to repark along Clement St. to the Inner portion of the Richmond District...
