I wasn't aware of how hipster this place really was until we set foot there...

My MO was just, "find another coffee spot" nearby in google maps and this place popped up...
Cro Cafe was conveniently close to our lunch spot so that was a plus.

CRO cafe is named after the owner's daughter, Camille Rosemary (found out waaay later while I was researching for this post). When I hear "cro", I think of Cro-Magnon or crow bar. This tiny coffee shop opened back in 2011. Prior to opening this shop, the owner used to do pop-ups at the former Cafe Fanny in Berkeley(which is now Bartavelle which sold the awesome kouign amann pastries from Starter Bakery, local to Oakland; Thane was kind enough to buy me four during a previous visit).

Their menu is concise, the way I like it. None of those shitty oversized frapps or blended drinks here. The roaster here was Sightglass in San Francisco (also used by Communal Coffee in North Park).

Our drinks:

I was surprised, Bert got a cappucino this time. As for me, I had a macchiato. Both drinks were excellent.

There wasn't anything on the menu for TC. I'd rather that she not drink coffee anything at least until she is an adult. But for now, she dislikes coffee, says it's too "bitter".
