The mandatory stop at Cream Pan - LA Roadtrip Day 1

See the window? And it's already February...

Can you tell I'm a bit behind in my posts? Oh well, this was the storefront next to Starbucks off the Red Hill exist in Tustin...

It's our first pre-stop for Bert's coffee (and a much needed bathroom break) before we head over here...

Cream Pan is almost always our first stop whenever we make any trip up north and this trip was no exception...

As always, everything looked excellent. We were here bright and early. Earlier even than Cathy and her Mister who were on their way up to Pasadena that same weekend for the Rose Parade floats.

I thought I'd get something new this time...onigiri (Japanese rice balls):

Chocolate orange, raisin pastry, ham and cheese croissant, almond croissant and a salmon onigir.

These two were just for TC (before her current experimentation with vegetarianism), the hot dog roll and a sweet bread roll:

The raisins in this pastry were golden yellow. There were more layered in the flaky folds. Bert and I really liked this.

TC liked this the best. This was a big hunk of rice shaped into a triangle and mixed with cooked salmon. The other onigiri choices were plain or had a salted plum in the middle (not a fan of that).

Mmmm, salmon breath afterwards.

Cream Pan is ALWAYS a necessary stop! Their baked goods are so so so good. They had some steamed meat buns there the last time I was there that Jake and I fell in love with. I need make a trip up again soon.

Hell yeah it is! I always like to try at least one new thing! We didn't see the meat buns during that last visit. I'd like to give those a try.
