On our way there, we saw this bright lime green shipping container serving coffee...

It was the new location of the Meshuggah Shack (the original location is on Goldfinch in Mission Hills)...
I wanted to give this place a try and TC wanted to try one of their fancy tea drinks. I wasn't adventurous that morning, so I just got the iced coffee while I treated TC to the Sparkle Pony (chai tea with lavender syrup and milk).

They opened just a few days ago; the lady said their decor was still a 'work in progress'. There were LP and 45 records hung on the walls (according to the worker, the records were selected with a title that had some sort of meaning; I didn't get a chance to read them up close) along with a variety of religious and pop culture figures. In the front of the shipping container was a Loteria niche with shelves.

I loved the Last Supper wall plaque and the Virgin Mary string lights.

It's hard to miss this place. The workers here were super friendly and the lady even gave us a discount and a few coupons to use (which we didn't since we would be out of town later that weekend). I thought her usage of the half off for our very first order was great customer service. I noticed she did that with everyone. Points to her for building her customer base.

My iced coffee (pre milk and sugar) and TC's Sparkle Pony.

As mentioned earlier, I didn't really like my iced coffee. It was too bitter even after dumping sugar and cream in it. TC really liked her drink while I did not. I don't like the taste of chai tea. It tasted like there were spices in it and the addition of lavender syrup killed it for me since the scent reminds me of potpourri.
This was the view behind us...this white building with colorful installations on it. However, TC's attention was on the new public bathroom right behind me.

It was one of the city's new Portland Loo's. Bought for $180,000 each and costing even more to install it.

The loos were brought in to offer downtown San Diegans more public restroom facilities. There are open slats at the top and bottom so cops can check if anything shady is going on inside while still giving the person inside some sort of "privacy". I think I'd still rather go pee in Starbucks or some other coffee shop. Unless I was completely desperate, I'd hate to do my business outside while others can, uh "hear" the action.

In the future, I'll have to try their other drinks since their iced coffee wasn't so great; okay, it sucked. After our quick stop at the Bunny Kitty mural, it was time to revisit a place Bert and I tried out a few weekends ago...
