We did run into some heavy showers while going through the S-curve on the 5, which tapered off and stopped completely once we moved past it...

The clouds were quite dramatic that day as we turned off the Tecolote Canyon/Sea World Drive exit to get to Morena Blvd...
When we saw this sign, Bert said, "Johnny Knoxville", after that guy from MTV's Jackass, which was a pretty dumb show.

When you see this mural off West Morena Blvd, turn right. This is Napier St. Bay Park Coffee will be on your left. It's near a Hydroponics store and a yoga place.

I didn't take too many interior photos since there were a lot of people around. The girls working here were pretty nice and one of them ended up bringing Bert's coffee to him. His was served in an actual cup while my mocha was in a paper cup.

Bert got a V60 pourover featuring a coffee from Yemen. It tasted floral which I didn't really like. Bert drank it black. It was a bit too strong for my liking. It reminded him of the Ethiopian coffee he recently had at Bean Bar (our 2nd visit). My mocha had a cute design on the froth. It was smooth and rich tasting and I would probably get it again but a bigger size (this was the smallest size, 8 oz).
Behind me and above my head was this pretty painting of the Virgin of Guadalupe. Bert snapped this shot for me so I wouldn't have to crane my neck. This was a nice version of the image although it was missing the little angel that's usually at her feet.

You'll probably see this photo again on December 12 when I do my roundup of VoG images.
There were quite a few little paintings, I'm assuming were from local artists hanging on their walls which provided some nice visuals. Service here was good. Many folks were on their laptops or just enjoying their conversations with their friends. Folks with dogs were outside as well. I noticed that there was a jar of treats that the customers would help themselves to for their pets. That was a nice touch for the dog owners.

We ended up going to 85C which was a few minutes away. Saw my one of my nephews there working the drinks counter. I only got a a few things - The top tow were for TC (chocolate chip bread bowl and milk bread), the calamari bun (they inexplicably called it a 'stick', I don't know why) and the raisin coffee bread for Bert. I was looking for these toasts that Mary told me about, topped with Hawaiian teriyaki chicken and another with chicken curry. They were out of it already and didn't want to wait for them to make more especially when there was a big question mark as to when it would come out again.

We noticed this placard...and I did see the dark chocolate chiffon cake. I was tempted, but didn't get it. It was $4.50 but seemed rather smallish. Maybe next time. Or not.

Our next stop was a small takeout place near Lincoln High School before picking up TC from her volunteering job...
