New flavors, Girl Scout Cookies

When I got home from the gym earlier tonight, I was greeted with these...

I spied two new flavors as well...

Our neighbor's daughter (and her sister) sold these to Bert and TC. Guess what....They're now going for $5 a box!

Here are the two new flavors, including one that is gluten free.

The cookies pretty much look like they do on the box. I tried one of the new "rah-rah raisins" and found them to be a bit dry. My cookie also didn't have any of the Greek yogurt flavored chunks in it. Of course, when I took out two more pieces to take a photo, they had the yogurt chunks. Bert liked 'em but I wasn't that thrilled with them.

The "toffee-tastic" cookies (no photo shown, just look at the box yo') were much better. They were the "gluten-free" cookie, made with rice flour. They were on the harder side, but I liked the flavor much better because of the little toffee chunks within. It had a nice crunch. It looked like a pecan sandie.  The other two boxes were tried and true flavors, the Thin Mints of course, and the Do-Si-Do's, which Bert likes more than I do since he is a peanut butter fan.

I remember when Girl Scout cookies went for $3 a box way back when. Then, not too long ago, they went up to $4 a box. I knew it would only be a matter of time for them to hit the $5 mark. Well, the money goes to a good cause and we have always bought cookies from our neighbor's daughter (along with Tatonka) ever since she was a small child. She is now a junior in high school and luckily, her younger sister is in Girl Scouts as well, ensuring that we will be buying cookies for at least a few more years until they both graduate and go to college.

dennis brought home some of the rah-rah raisins and we weren't too impressed. i generally like softer and chewier versions, especially our own recipe! i can't believe the price is $5 now. i was already sad when it went up to $4! if i got some, it'd have to be thin mints!

HI ltnn, $5 is a bit steep, I must agree. Of the 2 new flavors, I like the toffee ones better.

I read this post last week and told the bf NOT to buy these two new flavors (he always gets accosted by the girl scouts at the supermarket and gets suckered to buy a box or two :) ). The pics of the cookies on the boxes are dreadful. You'd think they'd have better pics of the cookies after charging $5 bucks per box. I don't usually buy supermarket cookies but is $5 about right for a box or bag of store bought cookies these days?

I haventered bought packaged cookies from a store k awbile, but $5 would be a lot. I don't even think Chips Ahoy cost that much and their package contains more cookies too.

Bleh, raisins. I also like my gluten, thank you. I manage to avoid the girl scouts so I won't get suckered into buying the cookies and feeling guilty when they ask.
