TC was doing her volunteer thing, rain or shine.

We thought we would revisit Nate's once again since we haven't had breakfast there before...
There was a chill in the air with the rainy weather we've been having lately. The previous night, it poured cats and dogs at around 11 pm, while we were watching the 5th season of "Wonder Years" on NetFlix. The rain was so hard and heavy! It was nice getting here early since there was no line and hardly any customers. That changed after 9 am when folks started coming in, some with their families in tow (one with a bratty screaming toddler who probably didn't want to be there).

The last two times I've been here, we ate on the patio. Not today.
We sat at the table on the right, near the window.

View of the stage from inside Nate's. The lady at the counter was super chill. I remember her from last time. She's very laid back, knowledgable and has great suggestions.

Bert got the house coffee from Dark Horse...

Our breakfast - Bert got the crab cakes benedict with a side of what I would call a formed cake of potato hash (the potatoes had skins on which was nice), while I got the breakfast plate of toast, eggs (scrambled, my choice), house cured bacon and the same potato cake thing.

Bert's crab cakes were so crabby tasting. Very fresh. It was a big portion in my opinion. This is the same dish that KD got during my first visit here last summer for TORC and D's birthday celebration. I just wasn't a fan of the goopy Hollandaise sauce or the runny egg once punctured.

The edges of the house cured bacon were sweet fromt he brown sugar glaze. I wished the pieces were bigger and meatier though. One piece was practically pure fat. But did I still eat it? Hell yeah I did.

Bacon....

Runny eggs. Bert likes.

Our breakfast was delicious but again, I wished maybe the bacon pieces were bigger and more substantial.

Next up, coffee in a neighborhood we hadn't yet explored...

Mmm, potato cake things! The bacon looks good, even if one piece was mostly the fatty bits. Those are the good bits, I tell you. The bacon does look tiny though.
I'm glad they're not a vegetarian place like Gelato Vero Cafe. BACON is a must have for dinner. Or sausage.
