set to have lunch with the ever so knowledgeable Mary (of This Tasty Life) and Faye (of Faye's Fork) at a "hidden" eatery tucked into a quiet business district...
As luck would have it, the original lunch destination, Mamma Lina's, chosen by Mary, was CLOSED. We would not have Italian after all (I had my heart set on their mushroom ravioli!).
Mary's 2nd choice was just one minute away up the street on Flanders, Wich Addiction. You can see it off of Mira Mesa Blvd, but you have to go into that complex and go all the way to the back. Warning, there is a small section of the parking lot that smells like rotten eggs! Serious sewer odor!

Since I'm not on Twitter and don't follow the coming and goings of food truck, I was not aware that Wich Addiction was associated with the Devilicious food truck. Apparently, they have a huge fan base. Anyhow, all the office/tech workers were out in full force that day. It was quite busy in here!

It had been awhile since I saw Mary and I was going to take advantage of my vacation time to have lunch with her as well as Faye, who we were both meeting for the first time. wA long time reader and commenter of many of our favorite blogs, she recently took the plunge and recently started her own blog, Faye's Fork. Faye had some snacks and candies from her recent trip to Taiwan for Mary and I, which was so kind and generous of her. The contents of those goodies will be a separate post!

We managed to snack one of the empty tables inside...

Unbeknownst to me, I happened to pick the ONE item that both gals did NOT like. BEETS.
Sorry girls! I felt like I broke an unspoken foodblogger buddy rule, which is to order something everyone can share.

Faye ordered a small tray of their deviled eggs ($2.95) for us to share. These were so good and I liked how the egg yolks were so nicely piped onto the egg. When I make these, the egg yolks are unceremoniously glopped onto them, ha ha. The shaved parmesan cheese and spring salad mix was a nice touch as well.

Mary had their Buttermilk Fried Chicken sandwich ($7.85) which had Sriracha aioli and Provolone on a French roll with lettuce, onion, and tomato. Now THIS was a sandwich!

The breading was just right - crispy on the outside with tender juicy chicken on the inside. I only had a small piece, but man, if I ever come here again, I would order this!

Faye also got a sandwich, the Chimichurri Steak ($9.50)....

The meat in her sandwich went really well with the chimichurri sauce, avocado and the usual sandwich dressings. Both of their sandwiches came with a side of potato chips. Those were cut pretty thickly and I was tempted to eat them with ketchup.

I had the Roasted Beet & Citrus Salad ($6.50) which had red onion, red peppers, manchego cheese, and a light citrus dressing. I wished the manchego cheese was sliced thicker (like that parmesan), not shredded. I really liked my salad, but it was too much to finish in one sitting, especially after having sampled a tiny bit of Mary and Faye's sandwiches.

Of course, Bert enjoyed the leftovers later that day!
Who else went here?

It was a nice lunch outing with two super nice gals! Since then, Bert, TC and I have been enjoying the Taiwanese snacks and candies every so often.
Work has started already so my days of lunching away from my desk are pretty much over. Many posts have yet to be published and I swear, one day, I will finish the Canada 2012 trip posts!!!

Ohhhh I want one of those sandwiches right now! The pics of everything looked so delicious. I can't believe all your ordered was a beet salad :( Hope you enjoyed the Asian treats!
Hi CC! I went here again last week with my co-workers and ordered the chicken sandwich again! Apparently I couldn't get this sandwich out of my dreams and just had to have it again. Most of my snacks from Faye are gone, haha. I think I just have the candy left! Most of the snacks you gave me are gone, too, but now I can't remember where I put the drink.... oops. I'll have to go on a quest through my house tonight to find it. Thanks for coming up for lunch!
