It was their first time there. For me, my third but I'd been wanting to go back...
You know, I never noticed it 'til now, but the sun with the "MJ" in it is the sun from the Philippine flag. I like it! This place used to be just called Yogurt Time & Deli, but last year, the MJ's was added (new ownership I believe).

La Ley, myself and our friend all ordered something different. Mr. TJ, who was with us, had someting from another place.

La Ley's Citrus grilled beef with red rice and Asian slaw. She really liked this and is willing to return to try something different.

Our friend surprised us by getting Longganisa Fries. She was overwhelmed by all the choices and asked the cook his preference and this is what he recommended. Good choice I say!

Everyone had a tiny taste of hers and thought it was the best of the three.
Below, my Spam Sisig with red rice along with a fried hard egg on top. Last time I was here, we had the Pork sisig, which wasn't really like the real kind of sisig. The flavors are there, but the cut of meat wasn't the "face". This was cubed Spam with A LOT of chopped red peppers. Too much in fact. I had to pick around those peppers. They weren't terribly spicy, but I just didn't want to irritate my stomach and uh, suffer later if ya know what I mean and I think you do!

Sisig? Not really, but man, was I craving that Spam!
Previous visits to MJ's:
First Visit - November 2012
Return to MJ's - Janaury 2013
Now that my normaly reluctant friends have sufficiently been exposed to Islander/fusion food, maybe they'll be up for a visit to Homestyle Hawaiian down the street!

All three of these look good. Never would have thought of longanisa fries. I need to stop instead of just driving past here...
i have a 2 for 1 coupon somewhere for this place. if i find it, i'll give it to you! :)
Longanisa fries?! What! I wanna try THAT. :D
Hi Mary - yeah, it's good to try at least once! the fries are your standard frozen kind though, so if that doesn't bother you, then go for it! remember, this ain't health food, ha ha.
