both outside aaaand inside...
Fresh from the success of her first trial of making rainbow cupcakes, this time TC had a friend to help out with this second version. KDD boughttwo types of frosting. This was the purple vanilla.

This was the cream cheese. The sprinkles were part of the purple frosting container.

We bought food coloring gel in "classic" colors (red, blue, yellow, and green) at Wal-Mart, so this time TC and her friend could do the full "rainbow".
I would say they did a great job! And yes, they were edible too!

The rainbow cupcakes were a little too late for Pride weekend though. TC likes the idea of the rainbow encompassing many different meanings, especially for Pride.
Here's a couple of rainbow related songs. I used to like this song when I was a kid. This is the newest version from the 2011 Muppets movie...
Animal rules!
It's hard to believe that this song is 30 years old! Raise a double horned salute to Ronnie James Dio!
"Rainbow in the Dark" is from the album "Holy Diver". Dio had recently fronted Black Sabbath then went solo in the early 80's. Classic pomp hard rock!
I'm glad that TC is enthusiastic about baking. She does know how to make her own frosting too but tweens being tweens, they enjoy the pre-made stuff for the ease! She'll have to make this again for my dad's upcoming birthday!

Very pretty!! I like how it ended up arching out a bit too!
Thank you says TC. She and her friend labored over making each layer even.
