Now that I had my iced drink next door, Bert got in line for his at Philz Coffee, a Berkeley fave, recommended by Thane's cousin.
I thought it was cool that two coffee places were right next door to each other. Nothing like some good old healthy competition, eh...
As Bert walked in, we saw several folks holding a drink that Bert ended up ordering...
He initially wasn't sure what he wanted at first, but after seeing several folks walking away with iced coffees topped with fresh mint, he was sold.
There is one line to order your drink, and another to pay for it. I took this shot on a short flight of stair, where there was a small landing and a sitting room filled with students hanging out with their friends and making use of the free wi-fi.
We later learned that Philz is known for ther Mint Mojito iced coffee.
That was only ONE mint sprig on top but hidden in the cup was actually more mint. Bert thought the mint took up more space inside and left less room for the milky and sweet iced coffee. Ironically the gal almost forgot to put that last sprig of mint on top!

By this time, TC's milk tea ice cubes had melted and made her drink too watery. I really enjoyed my iced coffee while Bert thought his drink was "different" with the touch of mint. He would have preferred less mint inside.
