over in University Heights...
where we did a two-fer at Pop Pie (so soon after my visit with Bert, ha ha) and the fairly new Stella Jean's Ice Cream.

Us four gals shared three pies (steak and ale, yello curry with vegetables and chicken); two had drinks (two types of iced tea) while the drink in the stemmed glass was TORC's - she chose a guava cider from Serpentine, which was pretty damn good.

Serpentine is a local company based in Mira Mesa. I was surprised that she chose something alcoholic since she rarely drinks when we go out. It had a lovely fruity aroma and a tiny bit of a kick. It was pleasant and easy to drink. I wouldn't mind getting this for myself for a future visit.

Steak and ale - This is a repeat for me since I liked what Bert had the other night. Everyone agreed this was the best pie and the most hearty. Cut slices courtesy of D - I would have butchered it, ha ha.

Yellow curry veg - This was my least favorite. It was vegetarian as well. Not a fan of curry. Don't get me wrong, it's tasty but doesn't really do it for me.

Chicken pot pie - This was the most classic flavor of the pies. Our second favorite. Lovely crust toppings for all of the pies by the way. You'll see they all had separate treatments

Look at that filling!
Dessert was easy since it was next door. We four shared two one scoop cups.

Top flavor was creamy citrus; the melon hued scoop beneath was peach tangerine.

The green was a repeat of the matcha pistachio; the scoop beneath was also a repeat - Earl Grey citrus with tea cake tinged with butterfly pea powder and blueberry sauce.

I was very disappointed by the size of the scoops. When Bert and I went a few days prior, the scoops were much larger. Maybe the worker this day was stingy with their scooping portion or something. This felt like a rip off considering the price.

Will probably do a revisit before the year's end to try new flavors since they usually switch it up depending on what ingredients they have on hand.
