Return to Sarap Filipino Kitchen: Stop 2 of TORC's Birthday Crawl

Our second stop that morning was here...

at the new'ish Sarap over by the Pyramid on Miramar Road...

I didn't realize that they were NOT serving from their lunch menu until after 11:00 am. They only serve a brunch menu buffet or a few other offerings (pancakes or silog plate). I was really bummed because I really wanted us all to try their lechon kawali and that bagoong fried rice.

We ended up getting the buffet. They have someone there that serves you what you request.

Eggs, fried rice (kind of dry and not that garlicky), adobo (too soupy looking), house made corned beef (the chunks were too thick and hard) and (cut off) - longanisa.

Here is another angle. Under the longanisa was a tray of tapa. which we did like.

Another table had Filipino style spaghetti (sweeter sauce and with cut up hot dogs plus fried Jeprox (a thin flat fish). I passed on the spaghetti. Not a fan of the Filipino version. As for the Jeprox, I've never had it before so only asked for a small piece. It turned out to be pretty good, like a thin fish flavored chip.

The table also had a dipping sauce (vinegar and soy based with chilies) and cut up melon.

These ube pancakes were not ours, but rather, a man who was sitting near us. He was nice enough to let me take a photo of it. Anything purple is attractive to me, ha ha.

This was my plate - I kept it simple. Least liked item was the housemade corned beef which bummed me out. I liked the longanisa and Jeprox the best.

TORC's plate - rice, corned beef, longanisa, adobo, spaghetti and eggs.

D's plate - she had a little bit of everything as well.

Not shown was KD's plate. The own below was my 2nd plate.

You can eat the bones and everything. It's all crispy.

Disappointed by their breakfast buffet. It didn't suck entirely, but it wasn't the best breakfast either.
It would have been nice to have chopped tomatoes with green onions as a counterpoint for the fried fish but that's just me.

Previous visit to Sarap:
September 2019

Note to selves - we'll have to come after 11 am to try their lunch entrees.

Coffee Stop #2 was next...and yes, still in the same area.

The have a brunch buffet! Didn't know. $15 seems pricey for what was offered.

I agree but most Filipino breakfasts are meat heavy so if you get a lot of meat, you can get your money's worth.
