TORC's Birthday Crawl - Stop 1: Copa Vida, Sorrento Valley

A few weeks ago the Educator GF's and I were out on a belated birthday crawl,

this time to celebrate TORC...

I had it planned where most of our stops would be up north so our first caffeine stop was Copa Vida in Sorrento Valley.  This place, according to Bert, has the best peppermint mochas and now that the holiday season is fast approaching...well, I'm sure we'll be up here again for that drink.  The gals on the other hand, haven't been here before.

Fall drinks - We ordered all but the pumpkin spice latte, but through a mistake on their part, it was served to us. The server  came back a few minutes later after realizing he gave it to us and took it back. We didn't drink from it by the way.

House coffee ordered by both M and D. These gals usually get drip coffee and then pour a bunch of cream and sugar into it.

The birthday girls's Ginger turmeric latte. Looks very milky and smelled spicy. Not a turmeric fan at all. At least this didn't look mustardy baby poo yellow like the version I tried for research purposes at The Grounds Bean Bar in PB last year.

Here is the drink I was served by mistake, the Pumpkin spice latte. I knew I had ordered the cappuccino which would have been smaller. Glad I didn't take a sip of this.

Now this was my real drink, the Fall cappuccino - Fall because of maple syrup and a sprinkling of nutmeg.  Thankfully the spice flavor wasn't too strong.  I still like the maple latte from Dark Horse much better. I'm starting to like the cappuccino size more (5 oz), but the espresso has to be really good, not some watered down crap.

I also ordered us the Matcha cortado to share.  This was really bitter because of the matcha.  I was hoping that this would be like a mini military latte but in cortado form. Sadly, there was no espresso in here and match only.  Wouldn't order this again.

Looks so pretty though.
