Jaunt Coffee Roasters

Before meeting up with Kirk at a new restaurant in Mira Mesa,

I headed over to a new coffee place in an industrial park...

Jaunt Coffee Roasters is located in what is called the Miralani Makers District (Miralani is the street. You hang a left on Camino Ruiz and take the first right into the complex (if you make a left, you will come across The Good Seed Food Co., Lost Cause Brewery and Serpentine Cider).  The complex on the right hand side has a sushi place that Mary has posted on a couple of times in 2015 (her posts also links Kirbie's visits).

Go all the way to the end and you will find it.

The coffee shop also houses an apothecary (didn't seem to be open or manned during my visit though). There is seating in the front and at the counter.

The painting of the skull near the apothecary section is by talented artist Maryjhun Dandan, who is also my favorite barista at Cafe Virtuoso. Her other painting of a portafilter with herbs hangs above the roaster at Jaunt.

Jimmy, the owner/barista of Jaunt was a very nice guy. He didn't even bat an eye when I ordered my TWO drinks, both for here and not To Go, ergo, no ugly paper cups per my request.

I normally get one drink but since I was solo today, I got two. My two drinks were my go-to Cortado and the other was a specialty latte, Caramel black sea salt (with almond milk sub). Sometimes I get one small drink and the other iced. This morning, both were hot drinks.

The counter where I waited and hung out.

I loved that a side of sparkling water was served with my cortado.

Well made, this drink. Very smooth and rich. No need to add extra sugar (which I don't anyways).  This was perfect.

I normally don't drink lattes either; it's more of a Bert thing, but I just had to try this caramel latte laced with black sea salt (it was already dissolved).  The flavor wasn't too sweet either which I liked.

A great latte this was!

I'm so glad I ventured here before lunch (that post is forthcoming).  It may be "hidden" or "out of the way" for some, but it's worth going to.  This is probably the only decent place for coffee in Mira Mesa (and by decent, I mean a coffee place in the truest sense of the word and it's own roastery to boot).
