Dinner at Farmer's Bottega

Fall break has been nice...

spending time with friends...

In this case, Mr. TJ, La Ley and MFH and I were out and about the other day.  It was a "celebrate" fall occasion and prior to coming to Farmer's Bottega for dinner, we hung out at Mr. TJ's place in Talmadge for a cocktails and snacks.

An Uber took us here pretty quickly and we were seated in the back patio.

My friends had wine while I had the first drink listed on the left column, which was pretty damn good. Nice flavor combinations with the cucumber, basil and watermelon.

We selected several items to share. Even though it was Restaurant Week, we didn't want to have their pre-set menu even if was a 'deal'.  This was the baby kale salad with roasted butternut squash, cranberries, candied pecans and bacon.

This was the Oxtail Ravioli - one of the best things we tried that evening. The raviolis were meaty and the sauce was very rich. There was supposed to be some horrid cheese sprinkled on top of this, but I asked if it could be on the side. It was either goat or blue. Either way, both = stanky ass putrefaction.

Mr. TJ wanted us to try his favorite, the Beef Shortrib with Polenta.  This, now THIS was also the superstar of that dinner.  The polenta was so soft and that short rib so tender. I need to learn how to make this at home, ha ha.

I ordered an appetizer to share - this had three big meatballs with a baguette slice. Wished there was more bread. This was just okay but I had ordered it just to be on the safe side if I didn't like the other dishes, heh.

MFH wanted dessert  - The mango coconut cake was a winner as well. It looked like cheesecake but was very very light. It was amazingly light to be honest. The coconut was so airy with that layer of mango mousse on top. It was gone in less than a minute, ha ha.

It was nice spending time with my friends...Mr. TJ would leave the next week for Florida while La Ley and I had to return to work.  MFH on the other hand, is already retired and living the life I want in 10 years, ha ha.

Previous visit to Farmer's Bottega:
July 2015 when Bert and I had a light lunch

Here's that raspberry srpizter we had before heading over here:

I had the non alcoholic version actually.

More fall break outings to come...
