we took the scenic neighborhood route from The French Oven...
over to House of Black Coffee. I already knew what I wanted, the espresso con panna...
In addition to the Caramel Mountain latte, Bert picked up this Star Wars inspired shirt.
I was amused by their tip jar...but even more excited by the R2D2 French Press on display!

Bert enjoyed his latte (which was missing the wafer described on their menu, hrmmmph) which was smooth and not too rich.
We can't go to HOB without also going to Mostra. Gotta maximize our time spent up here, ya know.
Our drinks - my JaMostra almond fudge con panna and Bert's creme brulee latte. It was supposed to be the bibingka latte but they were out of coconut milk. No matter, we enjoyed both drinks, mine especially. It was sweeter than the version I had at HOB, with the addition of almond and coconut. This is one of my favorite specialty drinks in San Diego.
This was a really nice treat to have twice!

We actually were home before 10:30 that morning. We had a few other errands to take care of, plus we wanted to relax at home before going back out to dinner with TC later.
