Seafood Friday 2018 - Week 3: Fuddruckers

It's the third Friday of Lent...

After all these years, I can't believe we haven't tried their version of...

this:

We hadn't been here in about a year or so and noticed that they changed out their tables and chairs! Welcome to the 21st century now! Looks so much more modern, but with that retro feel.

We sat on the other side for the first time, near pictures of "The King".

Note to selves. Do not sit here in the future.  It's near the candy vending machines and also near the bathroom which also has video games near it.  Bad mistake. You get noisy little kids messing with the machines (both candy and video). Plus, bathroom doors opening and closing.  Yeh.  Luckily we did not inhale any...aromas.

Our dinner - The aforementioned fish and chips plus a tilapia sandwich (grilled; the other choice was blackened but I don't like the spices used for that preparation) and a side of onion rings.

Four meaty beer battered pieces plus their normal fries and tartar sauce.  We shared our two entrees but I ended up not finishing my half of my sandwich. The bottom bun felt too "wet" and I didn't like the feeling of holding it. The sandwich almost fell apart.  We liked the grilled fish and were surprised at how generous the piece was.  It seemed like a better value than the fish and chips but then again, it wasn't a combo. The onion rings were also really good, with the chicken fried batter. I loved how crunchy it was.

Not shown in the photos above was the "free" (heh heh) salad. I was thinking, OMG, this is a lot of fried shit, so I went over and loaded up on green leaf lettuce, tomatoes, and onions so we could have our ghetto salad.  Twice.  I really wanted to eat something green and healthy.

As we left...

We can cross this off our lists now.

Previous visit to Fuddruckers:
October 2014 (I know we've been back more recently than this but I probably didn't post it, I mean, a burger is a burger is a burger)

Last year's post:
"St. Patrick's Day + Seafood Friday 2017 - Week 3: chipotle orange salad with shrimp from Rubio's

We went strolling down third to check out the "scene". There are a lot of new alcohol-centric places there now, asides from the dive bars that have been there since the 60's.  It was still early as in not even 6:30 pm, ha ha. Seriously, we felt old though.  Dessert was on my mind and it was possibly down the street...
