and had eaten meat for breakfast, but this was rectified for dinner...
when we stocked up on supplies, water, etc at the local Fred Meyer, a Portland market chain. I picked up a couple of packages of "sushi". We had snacked throughout the day but still had room for sushi.

One was an assortment and the other was a California roll (yes, I know, it's not real seafood but the other package counts, ha ha). All those crunchies on it were fried onions, which we liked, especially TC. Not gourmet quality but not entirely crappy either. I know that doesn't sound like a ringing endorsement, but it was fine for what it was!
Fast forward to the last Friday before Easter. Bert and I picked up a few tacos at the Nine Seas Seafood truck located at the north end of the Target Express parking lot in South Park. There is also another food truck near it but they sold "vegan" food (sorry, but ugh).

We ordered two fish tacos, one gobernador (which they incorrectlhy spelled as "governanor") and one octopus. I even ordered in Spanish because the lady didn't understand my English. Go figure.

Various sauces (the light orange one is REALLY hot! Must be habanero). We were also given consomme which was really tasty. It wasn't overly salty and was chock full of fish chunks and whole shell on shrimp.

Remember I thought I ordered octopus? Bert noticed on the receipt that we were charged for 'marlin' (it was the same price, $4.75). I was hoping that the lady had made a mistake for the receipt and I would be given octopus in reality. However...our tray did have the marlin taco. I remember asking for 'uno taco de pulpo' but no matter, we kept the marlin since we like it. I was still a bit bummed about not getting my first choice.

We ate our fish tacos standing up at a nearby covered table area, chatting with some folks who were telling us how much they loved the consomme.
The fish tacos were pretty large; I could barely wrap the tortilla around the fish. The fish had too much batter though, but for $1.69 I'm not complaining.

We covered the marlin and gobernador with foil and took it home. We had picked up TC and her "friend that is a boy" this same evening in South Park. We thought we would kill two birds with one stone tonight. They wanted to catch a movie at the theater near us and in order to save time, we covered our remaining tacos with foil and took it home to eat later.
Both tacos came with two tortillas so we divided the fillings between the them. The only downside was that the trip home cooled down the tacos and that one of the tortillas had a cheese layer while t he bottom one did not. These tacos were packed with seafood! Both were very delicious! Bert really enjoyed the marlin while I liked the gobernador more. There were so many juicy grilled shrimp in there...maybe about twenty!

The seafood truck that used to be here (but on the other side of the parking lot) was called Seven Seas. I wonder if this is related to it.

It was good to be back home. Even though they had Mexican food in Portland, we chose to eat other types of food, preferring SoCal's version.
Now to get started on those Portland posts!
