Return to Eccentric Bakers and Kaffee Meister

My other coupon(s) included a bakery which we visited last October...

The name of this bakery seems a bit odd especially since it was just a regular bakery and nothing to wild and crazy inside...

but I'm sure they had their reasons.  Although these pastries looked good, I saw a gnat flying around inside it. Yeahhhhh, so uh....

I ended up choosing two other sweets that were SEALED. Bert wasn't sure of my M.O. until after we left. I certainly didn't want to say, "We'll pass on those gnatty cookies and danishes, thank you."

With both sealed pastries, we headed up the same street to where Kaffee Meister and The Cupcake Store were.  The Cupcake Store wouldn't be open until 10 am bu we weren't planning to stay that long, so I had to put that one away for a future visit.

I love that East County has their own hipster coffee bar, but it sucks that Chula Vista doesn't even have one.

Bert's Mocha with Soy.

My Cappuccino.

Very pretty! I'm getting used to drinking these hot drinks now and trying to really savor the flavor rather than dumping sugar in there (my first instict).

And both drinks were delicious as well.

Back to those sealed pastries. One was a fudgy brownie and the other was a raspberry/coconut bar drizzled with chocolate.

We loved the crust and the fudgy interior....

I liked the layers of this bar. Both of these were pretty huge and we could only manage a few bites. It lasted several days actually.

We had to head back down south to pick up the kid from her volunteering gig...

Previous visits back in October 2014:
Kaffee Meister
Eccentric International Chef's Bakery

Out of my four coupons, three were used! Not so bad!

Yes, Santee is getting there. Hipster coffee, 4 Starbucks and a nicer bakery and a classic donut shop...plus we have the Lakes, Sportsplex USA and the Trolley. So much has changed since we moved here. Sadly, most of the horses are gone...

We have Hans and Harry but no decent coffee shop. The closest decent ones are in Barrio Logan, Cafe Moto and Cafe Virtuoso.

Don't worry, Mira Mesa doesn't have a hipster coffee shop either. Not hip enough up here, I guess. Too bad, I long for a place nearby that sells cold brew. Sigh. That one dessert looks nice and fudgy, I bet I would like!

I wish there was a hipster coffee shop in Mira Mesa but it's oversaturated with boba places and shit.

That dessert was a bit too fudgy for my liking but I did like the crackly top!
