Rocket Fizz, SLO

Gotta love the font on these signs, reminiscent of the Spanish/Mission heritage in San Luis Obispo...

The brown is kind of blah but I'm sure they chose it because it's the same color as the robes worn by the Spanish friars...

The coffee place we wanted to go to was on Higuera but I spied this kitschy soda shop first...

We'd seen Rocket Fizz before on Magnolia Blvd in Burbank and just last year, a Rocket Fizz opened up on Garnet in PB. It's one of those stores that has EVERYTHING soda and candy related. They even had soda and candy from different countries along with regular American candy including retro type candy. They guy working here was really nice, a young college guy. Bert picked his brain on the different root beers they had. He was pretty knowledgable.

Hmmm, dead dictators on your soda?

They had all kinds of crazy flavors including bacon (For the records, it's awful; I bought one at Booh Bah Loo Candy shop during our Canada 2012 trip) and Sweet Corn (it's not so bad: I was gifted a bottle by Darlene and Paul) plus Buffalo Wng and Apple Pie (that one doesn't sound too bad).

I don't remember what I chose, but I recall  Bert getting two different root beers while TC selected a bottle for herself. No pix.

Gross! French dressing?

Found this video where a girl samples a Chili Oil flavored Ramune soda (ugh), filmed at this location of Rocket Fizz:

They certainly had lots of choices and I'm sure they get loads of foot traffic and people buying gum as well for a nearby attraction (post is forthcoming).

We toted our bottles to sample later before going a few doors down for our obligatory caffeine fix...

The font on the sign also reminds me of Lord of the Rings!

Buffalo wing soda and French dressing soda sounds AWFUL. hahah! I'd totally give those as gifts hehe

It totally does! It's that old fashioned medieval looking calligraphy.

well, if you give out those sodas, would the gift recipient drink it? I didn' think the corn soda that darlene gave me was that bad. seriously.
