I noticed that Nomad finally got some signage...
and their list of daily flavors (which is also posted on their Instagram) was up. However, once you walked inside, their chalkboard list had a bunch of the flavors crossed out. Dagnabs.

This adorable donut mobile was also new! OMG, whoever made this is so talented! Cute!

These were the choices that remained that late morning. I spied the ube coconut, which TC selected. Bert chose the chocolate chip peppermint while I ended up with the mango guanabano (also known as the "soursop" fruit) out of curiosity.

Also new were works by local artists on both walls, some donut related. It was a nice touch, like what they did at Hammond's Ice Cream last fall.

Bummer about the other flavors we wanted to try. They sold out pretty earlier on the blueberry lemon and dark chocolate caramel. There was also a prickly pear flavor that sounded promising. Kudos to their chef for their imaginative combos.

Of all the flavors, I liked Bert's chocolate chip peppermind the best. The toasted coconut on the ube frosted donut was a nice touch as well. It also cool knowing that their head baker is Filipina; I like that she put in a Filipino flavor! The guanabano flavor was a bit on the faint side. It tasted more of mango to me.

Oh so good...

This was also the first time we tried their yeast donuts; the other times, we had cake. I liked the light and fluffy texture of the yeast...

Believe it or not, we saved these for later. I was pretty proud that we exercised great restraint that morning, heh heh.

Seriously I much prefer these to Streetcar's heavy and gross brioche donuts. I have a post in the works, but haven't really been "feelin' it" in terms of putting it out. Like a bad case of constipation, it'll come out...eventually. I would have to say that Nomad, along with Donut Panic are now my two "go to" fancy donut places. I'm even considering not having a birthday cake this year and just getting donuts!

Still haven't been here but I follow them on Instagram so I'm always seeing what special flavors they have. It's nice to see they're always trying out new stuff! I'll make it in one of these days. I tried to go to that "24" hour donut shop on University near Fresh n Easy last weekend and of course they only had one sad little tray of glazed donuts. So much for that 24 hour thing.
You have to try them one of these days...They are way better than Donut Bar and Streetcar. That 24 hour donut shop on University sucks. Totally.
