The younger kids were all abuzz with the arrival of these boxes...
of cookies from local company, Zooies, which is down near Market Street connected to a gas station. I remember reading a post by Mary (linked at the end). One of the dance moms brought this and everyone was crowded around her. I wanted to know what the big deal was.
The cookies included cookies and cream, chocolate chip, peanut butter, blondie brownies (one was left), and oatmeal.

Bert and I shared one of the cookies and cream...

This was chockful of stuff! Chocolate chips (white and dark chocolate) and cookie bits. It was moist, but not too soft. I liked the different textures in there as well.

It would have been nice to try the other varieties, but as it was, we were already full. Those boxes of cookies sure didn't last long. Along with the carne asada fries, these were the hit of the day.
For a more comprehensive look at Zooies and their selection, please see Mary's post:
December 2013
We ended up staying til 5:30 watching the kids play games and do relay reaces. The sun was a bit hidden behind the clouds over in Rohr Park that day. The heatwave hadn't yet hit San Diego like this week (OMG! It's 99 F in my backyard right now!)....

I really thought I commented already, but maybe I just imagined it in my head. Zooies cookies are pretty tasty! The pumpkin pie they have is good (don't know if it's still out) and the espresso chip is my favorite. I like the textures and the cookies are a good size.
hi mary - i really liked that one cookie we tried. i will have to try that espresso chip this summer when i have more time to explore. that flavor sounds good!
