Once again, clearing out the odds and ends on the good ole memory card...
These were rainbow cupcakes topped with rainbow Nerds candy that TC made for her teachers earlier this month for Teacher's Day...

She ran out of red from a previous attempt, but I still think these look pretty cool.

Her teachers loved the cupcakes!
Near H St and Southwestern College is a house on the corner with this on their front yard:

All righty then!
Thank goodness I used a giftcard for this...a $5.95 sandwich from Starbucks.

Another lunch spent with La Ley and Mr. TJ....

During a recent trip to Max Cup a few doors down...I noticed that the signage had changed for Lisa's.

Pansang must be a nickname for someone.
I thought this birthday card featuring Jesus was funny...

The inside reads, "@ JC_forever Hope you have a happy birthday. Ok, gotta run. Crowd gathering at river. Talk later."
Where's the Buddha and Mohammed version?
I liked the look of this...

It was later roasted with olive oil and a sprinkling of coarse sea salt.
The medical building on the southeast corner of 47th and Market is looking good! That's a lot of progress from last winter!

Filipino sweets...

Our memorial day lunch....Bert made the hamburger patties himself...

The grilled zucchini was new for us and we liked it! Bacon makes everything better as well!
Using the same giftcard once more....the Java Chip frappucino.

No whipped cream and with 2% milk. I also used my fake Starbucks name (not shown) because people always screw up my real name.
Another outing to Starbucks with my lunch buddies La Ley and Mr. TJ...see those savory items in the display case? They are the new items from La Boulange, a bakery chain from San Francisco. The sucky thing is, they are always out of the savory pastries by lunch. What you see in the case are just for looks. Grrrr.

I ended up getting a breakfast sandwich instead. It was premade and wrapped in plastic; they reheated it for me. Not bad. The drink was a Double Chocalatey Chip frapp (again, no whipped cream, ugh and with 2%).

It's safe to say that the gift card is now depleted!
La Ley's lunch from Luna Grill - Chicken kabob plate with salad and carrots, which she didn't like because they were supposed to be grilled but they were pretty hard still.

Mr. TJ's plate was similar but "upgraded" ($1 or something more) to make his salad "Greek". All theu added was two olives, a pepper and that horrible feta cheese.

These were huge honkin' plates of food! Enough for two meals.
Dinner last Friday at Pho Convoy in Chula Vista...our "go-to" Vietnamese restaurant...

I had a few fried spring rolls (I don't like these wrappers as much as the rice paper ones, which blister quite nicely when fried)...while Bert enjoyed his egg noodle soup with seafood and TC had her fresh spring rolls.

I saw that the Garlic Eggplant special was offered once again...

This was so delicious; I had the leftovers for breakfast the next day. Yes, garlic breath.
A few weeks ago, during our impromptu roadtrip to LA...

Swallows on the concrete retaining wall near Capistrano. Get it?
Union Station in L.A. - pretty handy and convenient. You can take the train from SD and end up here and walk or take the bus to the nearby sites in L.A. like Chinatown, Downtown, and Little Tokyo.

Taken sometime last month...the South Bay Drive In.

More recently, it had the new X-Men movie, but they must have run out of letters because it read, "X-Man"!
The historic Sun Cafe in downtown San Diego was marred by the words "Funky Garcia's at"...it looks terrible, like an afterthought. :(

Funky Garcia's?
From Bert's car - yes he still has a tape deck.

And why yes, he DOES know all the words to the songs sung by Ariel, Sebastian the Crab, Ursula the Seawith, Belle, Gaston, and Lumiere the candlestick!
The 5-tiered Peace Pagoda in San Francisco's Japan Town.

This was a chiropractic office off of Irving and 9th in the Inner Sunset...

When we came back from our road trip during Spring Break, our houseplant had flowered. This happens ever two years or something. As soon as I walked in the house, the overwhelming scent of whatever flower this is permeated the entire house. Ugh!

I immediately cut off the stalks and threw them out. I also had to open up the windows to air out the house. The damn flowers dripped sap on our carpet as well!

My dad got made at me when I told him that I cut off the flowers. He told me "I shouldn't have done that because that is lucky!". Sigh.
Seen at the Eastlake Design District...the old Eastlake Brewhouse which closed unceremoniously and without warning in October 2012 is going to be a new Filippi's!

That's it for now...
Summer is practically here! I'm practically crawling out of my skin for it to be summer vacation already!

I believe they are just adding the Wild Oats products at Fresh and Easy, not taking over. Jake quit working there at the end of April so we don't go very much anymore but I've noticed they have lots of different products in there and the prices have gone up :(
We were driving through South Bay this weekend and I totally saw the "X-Man" sign at the drive in and laughed! We even got a few Stardust Donuts while we were down there.
Okay, thanks Mary. I'll correct it. I is ignorant, haha. Yes, I've noticed the price hike on many items. They no longer offer coupons either. :(
Dude, you guys scored with Star Dust.
I noticed the writing in the sand for your grandfather's post....IB right? You can see Point Loma in the corner.
The sand writing was done at Coronado Beach, just south of the Hotel Del. We drove up the Strand to Coronado! So we were in the area at least.
AH yes, Coronado!
