Plan B was over in Kearny Mesa...

where we passed by what used to be U-Mart (the old Zion Market), which is now Hana Mart...
Our dessert destination was supposed to have it's "grand opening" today...
I wasn't sure how crowded it would be (we arrived around 2 pm) but it was the same as it was the previous times I've visited, empty. Maybe we missed the opening day crowds or something.
Cammie updated her menu and now offers Vietnamese iced coffee along with the Mostra cold brew.

Despite the new desserts listed, only a few were out in the case. The macarons were also gone. The guy at the counter (I believe it might have been her fiance) apologized and said they sold out "yesterday" which was kind of odd. I wonder if they moved up their grand opening? Speakibg of which, it didn't even look like the place was ready to go. There were still chairs in a corner and unhung artwork. They still did not have a trashcan in the general area.
New items, cream puffs and cheesecakes:

Astroboi got the same dessert Bert loved the week before, the chocolate raspberry...

while I got the mini cheesecake bite.

It was the perfect size since I was sugared out from the coffee earlier.

We didn't see Cammie that day; she must have been in the back.

Desserts were served on the cute mismatched thriftstore plates but unfortunately these were paired with plastic forks. I still think that if you are going to serve desserts on a nice plate, you should get nice cutlery.

I hope that they work on the interior of this place and step up the presentation/serving of their desserts, which are really good.
On our way back, Astroboi and I were remarking on what this Frazee Paint building used to be. We thought the circular doorway was interesting.

It looks like it's from the 60's.
Somewhere in Kearny Mesa...

*It's been a little over ten years since the Cheetah's strip club scandal involving three SD City Councilmen (Ralph Inzunza, Michael Zucchet and Charles Lewis) where they accepted illegal campaign contributions in exchange for relaxation of the "no-touch" rule between the dancers and patrons of strip clubs. The first two are out of prison, while the third guy died before going to trial.
Previous visit to Blush:
Mother's Day 2014
In all, a very fun day spent with a very fab friend whose real birthday is coming up in a few days...

yikes, it still looks the same...I was going to visit over the weekend but had some unexpected stuff that came up so I never made it there. Looks like I didn't miss much.
Yeah, it was disappointing to see that the place wasn't "fixed up" especially after they advertised their "grand opening" and all. :(
