Back at the Ferry Building, we encountered crowds...

and a long line at our next stop, Humphry Slocombe, which replaced a gelato shop...
This is what it looked like that morning before the crowds invaded...

We told ourselves that morning that we'd be back.

They didn't have the Fetal Kitten flavor that day.

Here were their flavors:

Thane got the Secret Breakfast at their Mission District location three years ago...It's Bourbon and Cornflakes together. Nice, eh!
These were an interesting item, lard caramels.

One scoop was $5, 2 scoops was $5 with the best deal being $6 for 3 scoops.

As much as I wanted three scoops for all of us to share, we opted to get the double scoop.

TC selected the Lemon Basil sorbet with our choice being the Blue Bottle Vietnamese Coffee. I liked our flavor better than TC's. She has a penchant for sour flavors.

This location didn't have any of their more outlandish flavors like Szechuan Strawberry or the Jesus Juice. I'm sure they had to "tone it down" for this spot. In any case, the ice cream was refreshing and it was good to take a little break.
So long Ferry Building! Until next visit!
Previous visit to Humphrey Slocumbe (Mission District location):
November 2010
Up next, we hopped on the Muni to get back to our car at the garage, but first, another snack!

Interesting flavors! Those lard caramels sound... really weird. The coffee flavor you got sounds like something I'd really like. We need more interesting ice cream shops here. I wonder if the upcoming Hammond's Ice Cream in North Park will be any good!
Yeah, the word "lard" in candy doesn't sound too appetizing to me.
About Hammond's, it's taking the place of that old Fresh MacFarland's shop that I took a snapshot of. THe one with the sign one week and the next week it was gone.
Their flavors that I saw on their website sound good but not too "wierd" like Humphry Slocombes's.
