Located within the LAX-C building were other shops around the perimeter...

In fact, Wandering Chopsticks recommended this place for their specialty item...
which is a green tea brick toast topped with green tea ice cream and decorated with green tea Kit Kats! Talk about green tea overload! It was still a little early in the morning to indulge in that dessert (although I definitely thought of Kirbie and her green tea obsession) when I saw this on their menu and other reviews...

The brick toast would have to wait, along with their delectable looking French pastries. I wanted to save myself for the snacks waiting around the corner. Another item that WC recommended was their Thai Tea cream puff, which I didn't see on their menu or in the display case. I would totally go back just for that!

Bert and I wanted coffee...

The owner, Amnaj Bholsangngam wanted to a Third Wave coffee shop like the kind you would see in the Pacific Northwest. You could say that he succeeded with the industrial and open look of his shop.

On the left, my Kyoto iced coffee and Bert's cold brewed iced ($5 & $3.50).

By itself, the coffee were super strong for my weak taste buds, so I had to add some half and half and sugars to sweeten it up for me.

Out of the two drinks, I liked mine better. It was a little more smooth tasting than Bert's cold brew...

Bundled papers from Thai LA Paper Newspapers which is house in the same complex...

Although we did not partake in any of their pastries (as good as they looked), as well as their namesake "brick toast" (hangs head in shame) or their signature Thai Tea cream puffs, that just means, "another road trip" in the very near future to cross that off my food list!

There was another place just outside of the warehouse supply store we wanted to see, a place I'd only read about which piqued my curiosity....

Hmm, I've never had Kyoto style coffee (had to look up what that meant then I saw it was just cold brew haha). I wonder if I could drink that and not have it upset my tummy. Will have to try that out sometime if I get the chance! The green tea toast/ice cream/kit kat sounds intense. I usually only just green tea as tea but I bet it looks really pretty!
Was your Kyoto iced coffee and Bert's cold brewed iced the same size? I'm wondering why his was pricier. I love iced coffee and crave it with sugar & heavy cream. I wish I could drink it black like most hard core coffee drinkers. But I almost see an iced coffee as dessert. I've had some great iced coffee in LA so this post makes me want to make the horrid drive up there just for a coffee crawl.
hi mary - to be honest, they tasted almost the same but they used a 'single origin coffee' (oooh, wtf, right, and where was it from? i have no idea) for the kyoto. i think it also refers to how it was made.
i'm not a big green tea fan, but would be willing to try that particular dessert.
hi faye - yes, our coffees were the same size. the kyoto is pricier because it uses a diff't method of brewing where it dripss down a fancy contraption and because the kind of coffee they use is single origin.
here is an interesting post about kyoto style coffee:
