Not your typical Mom's shoes...

One of my friends had a sexy ass pair of sky high platform peeptoe wedges that she got recently at Kohl's. Now Kohl's is normally not a store I shop at, but when she told me she saw some heels with spikes on them, I just had to see for myself.

Of course, being the shoe whore fanatic that I am, I had to have them...

Are these fkg cool or what?

These are by Simply Vera by Vera Wang. The upper is not leather but a reptile print fabric. The heels are 4" high and there is no platform (which would probably make these more comfortable if there were one). On the back end are various sized gunmetal conical spikes along with smoky colored oval "jewels".

Heavy metal bedazzling at it's finest.

The box said the color was "grey" but it was more of a really like greyish nude. If these were black, I think they would look more dangerous and rocker chick, the way I like it. These are a little more "genteel" since the color is more muted but I really like how the shoe looks demure in the front but totally kick ass in the back!

The heels were on sale for 40% off so that's how I justified this pre-Mother's Day shoe splurge (ended up being less than 50 but more than 40).

Of course, I wore them when we went out for Mother's Day dinner (post will be forthcoming)....

I don't have a lot of light colored tops, but I wore this sleeveless ivory top with black edged fabric rosettes with my 7's ("A" pocket) jeans along with the new heels. This is probably the most frou frou I'll ever get since I normally wear a lot of black. And by a lot, I mean my whole wardrobe.

Since the jeans are flared, you cannot see those badass spikes on the heels, but they can be seen when sitting. For maximum effect in the future, I would probably pair these heels with some black skinny jeans. I don't think I couldn't get away with the skinnies and these heels at work, but with my slacks or jeans, I could. It would be like my little "secret" having these killer spiky heels on,.

As hot as these shoes looked, my feet were killing me after a couple of hours. But hey, a mom's gotta look hot too right? As Fernando Llamas (the Billy Crystal "SNL" version would say:
