MD Desserts at Lisko

[Update - Lisko closed Spring 2013]

After our amazing lunch (with tons of leftovers) from Que Huong, I suggested Liskos for dessert.

Bert hadn't been there before and was game to try a new dessert place...

The guy working the counter gave us the waffle looking dessert for free. He said it was "on it's way" out. I had asked about it because it was the only one of it's kind and was hidden in the back. He said it was "dinged up" and therefore hidden. I'm glad he gave it to us for free because it was one of the most flavorless desserts I've ever had there....

Bert and the giant chocolate macaron...

Peekaboo...

Last time I was at Lisko's, Kirbie tried this Chocolate Bomb. Hazelnut and chocolate mousse. Nice crunchy bottom crust with crushed hazel nuts.

Here's that horrible waffle shaped thing. It was dense and chocolate looking but the flavor was really flat. We took a couple of bites and trashed it at home later.

I think TC chose this tart - it was key lime with merengue petals and a decorative piece of chocolate on top. Very pretty. The filling was too tart for me so I skipped this after the first bite.

Heres that bomb again...Loved the creamy white chocolate ganache filling which also had one or two liquor soaked cherries.

TC's fork....

The desserts today were kind of hit and miss. Out of the four, I liked the macaron and the bomb the best. Bert and TC found the tart to be their favorite.

After all this, we headed back home to relax a bit before going out to dinner again, this time with Bert's mom...
