JJ Bakery

D, our driver for the day, was well versed in all the different places to go during our little food crawl.

She wanted us to check out this Taiwanese bakery she really likes over in Arcada...

JJ Bakery may not be as crowded at 85C but they do have similar items. When we got there, the parking lot had plenty of spaces (it was only 4:30'ish).

See? No long line. All the goods are already wrapped for you too.

D got a hot dog bun, two types of pineapple buns, and a pastry stick with almonds and sugar.

There were also more baked goods on top of the counters and beautiful cakes in the display case. If only we lived here and didn't have a 2 1/2 hour drive back to San Diego...

My eyes said yes but my stomach said no.

The young girl working the counter had a cool haircut (sorry no photo); her sideburns were especially cool. She had a cute pixie cut with angled bangs, but her left side burn had a few long pieces of hair that were gelled to a curved point.

Ah well, you had to see it to appreciate it!

Who else went to JJ Bakery?
The Food Gastronomer went here back in 2008
Kirbie went here several times in 2009: April, May, and September.

JJ Bakery
1130 S Baldwin Ave
Arcadia, CA 91007

Their "website" is under construction but you can read the yelp reviews here.

In the same strip mall, just across the parking lot, was another place that D insisted that we try...
