R.I.P. Robin Gibb
Even though some music factions made fun of disco, the Bee Gees were KING in the mid'70's. As a young child, I fondly remember listening to the Bee Gees. Their songs reminded me of our family's trip to the Philippines in 1978. The Bee Gees were constantly being played on the radio there and back in San Diego. "Stayin' Alive", "You Should be Dancing", "More than a Woman", and "Saturday Night Fever" along with "How Deep is Your Love", which is one of my favorite Bee Gees Songs. Even lead singer of Skid Row, Sebastian Bach proclaimed that song to be one of the best songs ever. I have the sheet music of this somewhere.
The surviving Bee Gees brother were even spoofed on SNL with Jimmy Fallon as 'Barry Gibb' and former 'N Sync member, Justin Timberlake as 'Robin' in one of the "Barry Gibb Talk Show" skits...

Jimmy played Barry as foul mouthed and violently angry towards his guest bu gentle and inquisitive towards his "shy" brother Robin.
Robin Gibb was only 62 years old but had been battling colon and liver cancer for the past two years. He suffered complications from a blocked intestine and was in a coma for several weeks before finally reviving from it. Unfortunately, he didn't last too long, much like his twin brother Maurice who succumbed to the same hereditary condition. So very sad.
Robin Gibb is now in musical heaven with his twin and younger brother Andy Gibb. Gosh, remember Andy? My sister once had a tank top with an iron on of Andy Gibb's face on it. Anyways, Robin may be gone but his music with the Bee Gees will live on.
Robin Gibb (12/22/1949 - 5/20/2012)
