which will remain open until next month...
Take on last good look at this people...

This 50+ year old building and business will be transferring to a newer (and larger) space just up the street and around the corner.

The day of my visit, I got a few favorites for me, TC and Bert (bars, old fashioned, twist, blueberry). It was only $7.20 for all this. You can't even buy 3 donuts for this price at a hipster donut joint.

This was the first time I bought their apple fritter and yes, it's pretty damn big.

I got lucky the day and time of my visit since there were crullers available (but no chocolate topped ones).

Sob...no one does it like Mary's. Everything else was enjoyed at home later and the next day...
Out of curiosity, I went to the strip mall where Mary's will relocate. It's the same one with GTM. If you are looking at GTM, it will be on your left. Look for this sign. You can't miss it. Eccentric Bakers is also here.

Here is the sign from the opposite direction. You will see that Mary's Donuts is already on the sign.

Sugary treats...

The blueberry had a nice crisp exterior and fluffy innards.

Worth the trip.

The new place is supposed to be up and running by March 2015. Cathy from mmm-yoso has already gone by snapping shots of the still empty interior. I'm sure she will do her post in due time, so until then, we patiently wait for the new one to open...so we can use this (the coupon she sent me)!

I have friends (non-food blogger, of course) that simply for the life of me, can't understand why I would drive out of my way to go to certain food places. Plus, they think food road trips are wierd! Well, they just don't understand, do they (hmmmph). The twenty five minute drive from my humble abode in Chula Vista all the way to Santee (made speedier by my 125 Fast Pass) is totally worthwhile so suck on that non-believers.
Get thyself to the original Mary's before they close up shop in February and move into their new digs..
