but nothing shows that the holidays are here in San Diego until you see store windows painted (usually by the prolific Dano)...
I actually drove by here the other day to see if the windows were painted but sadly, they were not. We ALL need to see Santa holding a plate of fish tacos now!

Another Dano sighting, at the Goodwill in Clairemont Mesa (next to Harvest Market):

While this isn't Dano, we loved how the Blick Store in Little Italy utilized the Peanuts theme.

Also in seen in Little Italy, Santa eating pasta with red wine! Yeah!

Buon Natale indeed!
The following photos of holiday themed windows are from Cathy of mmm-yoso taken during recent outings. This one is from the soon-to-be-closed Mary's Donuts in Santee.

Their Facebook originally said their last day would be today, but they updated and said they would be open on the 26th. Go figure. They are supposed to relocated near GTM in Santee (not too far from their current location) but according to Cathy, there isn't even a "for rent" sign near GTM yet.
Boll Weevil in Santee. Santa is holidng a football and the snowman is holding a burger!

Sunrise Buffet in Kearny Mesa:

Here are a few from La Mesa:

Jimmy's in Santee. This time, Santa has a plate of sausage and pancakes.

And this last one was taken by me...another Dano from the 7-11 across from Southwestern College.

Dano rules! He's EVERYWHERE!
*Update - a few new ones from Santee (courtesy of Cathy):

Ugh - the reindeer is wearing not only an incongruous bikini top, but also NAIL POLISH.

Christmas Eve will be very low key for us this year. TC had foot surgery (she's okay) and needs to be off her feet for about a week. We will be doing the family thing tomorrow but for tonight, it's just us three enjoying each other's company...

Great post! I drove past a yogurt shop, dentist, nail shop and car dealer, also with 'personalized' artwork by Dano. I think that's why it's more interesting- none of it is a template(except some snowflakes as filler). I'm going to be looking for more Of this artwork during the rest of the year, to see if it's personalized then too.
Thanks Cathy! I will have to add those additional Dano pics later. I do recall seeing his stuff at other times of the year, like during Valentine's and Springtime. I need to remember to snap shots of those as well. He does have a 'stylized' way of drawing Santa, snowmen and reindeers, ha ha.
