(banner seen at one of the houses on Mt. Nebo near the La Mesa Secret Stairs)
for all that we've been fortunate to enjoy this past year...
whether it's time spent with family, friends, and loved ones as well as the conveniences of life (shelter, food to eat, a job). As much as I complain sometimes, I always realize that we have it pretty good.
Thanksgiving "decor", pilgrim and turkey solar powered toys courtesy of the dollar store.
The arms and wings wobble up and down. You can't tell from the photo but the damn turkey's wings don't move. I guess I bought a bum one. C thinks the Pilgrims' eyes look freaky too. But I don't care, they're on the mantel for ALL TO ENJOY!
At least until the end of today, then it's Christmas mode.
Since they don't make Thanksgiving themed Pez, I put up any/all of my Pez dispensers that had "fall colors" (red, yellow, orange).
From left to right: Ahsoka Tano (from Star Wars "Clone Wars"), Iron Man (2009 version/the later version has metallic gold instead of yellow), Squidward from "Spongebob Squarepants", Gene Simmons of Kiss, Polly Pumpkin with glow in the dark stem, C-3PO (he's gold, what the hell/2009 "Clone Wars"), Revised Jack o'Lantern with glow in the dark stem, Ewok, Halloween Pumpkin (2012), Bart Simpson, Chewbacca (2nd version released in 2005 from "Clone Wars").
From left to right: (begin after Chewbacca), Luke Skywalker (1997 series), Halloween Jack o'Lantern version B with green stem, Lisa Simpson, Belle from "Beauty & the Beast", Sanrio's Batz Maru, Tigress from "Kung Fu Panda", Jessie the cowgirl from "Toy Story", Chewbacca (1997 series), Animal from "The Muppets", C-3PO (1997 version), Spongebob Squarepants, and Super Bee or Big Bee from "Bugz".
La Ley and I bought the last Pilgrims a few weeks ago. There were a lot of turkeys but only four Pilgrims left. They should've made a Native American (dare I say, "Indian"?!). I would've bought that.
Made last night for today's lunch at my parents....
In addition to the pecan pie, I also made mochiko cake with macapuno, a special request from my mom (dad wanted the pecan pie). Looking forward to lunch and seeing my parents and the nephews and niece again.
I hope you and your family and loved ones have a great Thanksgiving!
