Here are some taken from the first quarter of this year....

which include snacks like this..
Indian Puppodums, which are thin and flat wafers made of gram flour and rice flour. These were actually microwaveable and they ended up curling up after a few seconds in the nuker. Very light and crisp these were. We got these from the now defunct Fresh & Easy.

These drinks were from Nestle Toll House from Otay Ranch Town Center (aka Otay Ranch mall) using a 2 for 1 coupon I had. Some sort of boba for TC and an iced mocha for me.

A random dinner at my mom's - Stir fry and lumpia. Note the plates. These were from my childhood. We're talking the 70's here. Corelle plates I believe. They last forever.

I never got a chance to post this 'til now. These were "Taste Test of Caramels" from Trader Joe's sold last holiday season. They were ridiculously cheap, like less than $10 but more than $5. I bought several as gifts and some for ourselves. I used TC's old grade school ruler in there as a reference point.

Almost every caramel was awesome. Many had interesting flavors (salt, herb, nuts, etc). The worst one for me was the lavender which I remedied by just brushing off the lavender buds on top of the caramel piece.
Also from TJ's were these latkes. I don't remember if these had to be fried or if they were baked. I normally don't fry anything. If they were fried, Bert must have done it.

The outer crust was pretty good but I thought the potato filling itself was kind of too dense. I was thinking this would be more like a loose hash brown.
From F&E's clearance...

Not bad this was...I think we were trying to clean out everything in our pantry by eating it, ha ha. I normally don't buy rice mixes but this was only a dollar something.
This may have been from Wal-Mart and I may have made a dick joke when taking the photo (that's Bert's hands)...

At the corner of Lane and Eastlake Parkway, Eastlake's newest Brewery (which wasn't open yet, but it is now), Novo Brazil. We haven't been there yet. They don't have food but offer a food truck nightly. I think it's different every night. In any case, Bert and I will check it out eventually. We miss the Eastlake Brewery which closed back in 2012.

Different Pringles flavors.

The Pecan Pie flavor isn't too bad.
Bought from F&E...

It didn't wow me and there weren't as much pecans as I would have liked.
From Wal-Mart, a Hello Kitty Pez gift set. I was so tempted but didn't get it. I didn't really want to buy the case but the set was only sold this way.

From a Mexican store...OMG, for the label alone!

Somehow, fake abalone doesn't sound appetizing.
At the Chula Vista Courthouse, for a jury duty session that I got postponed. I can understand the gun knife, and the boxcutter but the pliers?

Bought from F&E - I LOVED this salad! ((sob))...

Sardine trio - Portugues, Canadian and Mexican.

Skittles duo...the pink package was a new kind, "desserts" flavors.

All the flavors were really good. I haven't seen it in the stores since.
From Home Depot.

Yes...ballcock.

It really said, "How's it hanging?" on the box! Ha ha.
This used to be Love's BBQ pit in the 80's...Then I don't know what it became. It was another type of mariscos place (I can't remember the name) then it was briefly, La Tequila. This was owned by the same folks who own Karina's and also Savoie (the fancy Italian-French restaurant at the Otay Ranch Town Center). Now it is a Karina's.

The Red Devil bust in the hallway of Sweetwater High School.

SUHI is the oldest high school in the Sweetwater District. I was there for a meeting that spring.
Down south...this is the strip mall off Palm and 805 (Palm in Otay Mesa not National City). This is the same place that has Teresita's, Tomodachi and TapEx.

On Olympic Parkway heading west...

A lunch from last year. Crunchy taco. The Fire! sauce is pretty hot. I've become a wimp over the years. Mild is more like it for me now. Otherwise, I'll be feeling it later and not in a good way.

Soba noodle experiement with red peppers, carrots and cilantro.

These chunks were so good but could have been smaller so that it's easier to eat.

Mango flavored Pringles SUCK! This was so gross and I regret even buying them. The Cheetos on the other hand were so much better.

As seen at Target. TC wanted me to buy the mango frosting but I refused. The Chai Latte flavored cupcake batter also didn't appeal to me.

I was so happy to see this flavor once again. A few years ago, Darlene gave me a bag of these and I loved it. It's a great blend of both salty and sweet. Sometimes if you're lucky, you can find them at Sprouts. I found another bag recently at our local Vons, one of the few that wasn't taken over by the now defunct Haggens (damn them).

Muscle car at Sprouts parking lot.

On the way to the 32nd St. Navy Exchange with my dad. He can still get us in and also get a discount since he is retired and a senior citizen. Yay, dad!

From Wal-Mart - these mini condensed milks were so cute but cost more because of the packaging.

More funky potato chip flavors. The Wasabi soy sauce was gross. The Cheeseburger flavor tastes more like pickle. I would have to say the Pizza flavor was one of the more decent ones.

Only at the Wal-Mart's down south. Thank you Mexico! I wonder if the whiter parts of San Diego have these flavors?

During Winter 2014, the Kringles were going for $6.99. I originally bought the pumpkin flavor (didn't like it) just to try the Kringle. Then they had the Almond and I went crazy, buying two in one visit and two for another (food gifts). Then early 2015 they briefly had the Pecan Kringle. I liked this version almost as much as the original Almond flavor.

Alas, it doesn't look like Trader Joe's is carrying the Kringle again. :( Believe me, I've been checking on a weekly basis. If anyone finds it, let me know ASAP, ha ha! But seriously...
